Got scared with how I blocked off the resonator (rubber stopper) and pulled it apart before trying it (didn't want a rubber stopper in a turbo). It was in there really tight but lost my nerve. May attempt something else later but have heard mixed results. The K&N is just a K&N.
I had an 80s turbo car and I miss some of the turbo sounds. |

One thing I'm still getting used to in the Z4 is my rear wheels feeling like they're slipping when accelerating sometimes. Especially when shifting during a turn.

80s torque steer on a front wheel drive with unequal length axles and the boost cranked up could make you feel like you were about to change lanes. I both do and do not miss it.
Not something I did to the car itself. But I emailed Porterfiled yesterday about making pads for our cars. The R4S compound is low dust and good bite. Last edited by chilort; 12-09-2021 at 11:19 AM.. |

Well, traveling back from a business trip; I was rewarded with a rock chip in the windshield and a minor dent in the hood when a foam board flew up on the highway. Go figure yesterday was a bad day.

I'm heading towards my second windshield in less than 9 months! I'm hoping this second one will be a warranty replacement as the windshield seemed to crack without anything impacting it. If you use Safelite be sure to take it into the shop as their best installers work on site and not in the vans. |

I know exactly how you feel!

Today my car steps on a flexible metal strip on the express way, and it caused 2 cuts on the passenger lower skirt. I don't know if it cuts through the PPF and goes into the paints.... it is not possible to tell without through inspection. My heart was bleeding when that happened. So I know exactly how you feel! |

Thanks guys. I had 250 miles of drive left to steam. When I stopped and inspected, I noticed the black trim popped out partially; I was able to snap it back in place. Still stings.

TAZ007 I'm really sorry to hear what happened. Maybe a PDR guy can take care of the hood.
Safelite replaced the windshield on my family's X3 with HUD. We went for a drive with the tech so he could calibrate the HUD. Looked perfect. Charles

Thanks, I'm hoping so on the PDR. Not sure how it would happen on an aluminum hood.

Hate that stuff. Lost my 2 month old 440MPPSK for 5 weeks when a jack shaft came off a dump truck bounced into my lane took out my transmission, damaged the steering gear & the under trays. Good news it never touched a body panel.
No way to get the guy as dump trucks here run with no plates & no ID on the back. Wonder why that is? :
