New owner here.
When I put in reverse rear view camera comes on. Great. Put in forward and it takes a little to go for it to turn off. Annoying. How can I set it to turn off as soon as I put Drive?

You need to code it. IIRC there are 4 or 5 choices as to when it auto shuts down. Can't remember & not in the car but think you can force it off at any time pushing the menu button

Here is a link to one of several applications that run on your IOS or Android device. You also a need a Bluetooth dongle that plugs into your OBD port. BimmerCode is one of the user friendly versions that has fewer functions you can modify but also goes further to prevent you from bricking your car. There are other less user friendly more powerful options like E-Sys that give you access to all(?) of the configuration registers of all(?) of the CPU’s in your vehicle. I used it back in the day and was extremely careful, always being sure to back everything up before coding and never had an issue. There are a number of threads regarding what you can code on the G29.

Which odb2 do u recommend?

Many of the dongles are out of stock. I bought OBDLink LX and it seemed to work. I turned off active sound design. And I changed the speedo to 200mph.

Yeah, did that one along with some others. Noticed less options are available on the newer cars. Think my 2018 440 was the last that would let you hold the exhaust flaps open all the time.

Seems random now on 5 blinks instead of 3 on the partial turn signal push. Do a lot of higher speed interstate & liked the longer blink cycle. Auto seat push back on shut down seems gone.

Got a unit from BMS. Works with Bimmercode. More expensive but works in all my BMW's so far. They are active in updating as BMW up dates.

Here is mine and it works on my G29 and it worked on my F13. It also works with BimmerCode and it even lists BimmerCode app on the box. Not sure what the issue is.

If you search the questions section on Amazon for “BimmerCode” you’ll see a number of folks stating that it works fine with BimmerCode and various BMWs. It also shows free returns for me, not sure if you have Amazon Prime, but if you do and it doesn’t work you can always return it pretty hassle free.
