2021 Z4 Loaded, should I?

Hi All,

Came across a 2021 Silver Z4 with every option, 19" Black wheels ,etc.

Car has 113 mi. and the dealer, non BMW, has it listed a MSRP.

I'm debating about pursuing this but with the listed pricing not sure if its
worth it considering the current supply conditions.

Thanks,
John

There is a drastic shortage of cars in the US and many dealers are ripping people off selling above the MSRP. If you can get a fully loaded car with only 113 miles and really like the color combination go for it.

PS, which model is it, the sDrive30i or M40i?
Also what are the interior and roof colors and does it have the Shadowline package?

package, driving assist, active cruise, parking assistant, wireless charge.

That is a beautiful color combination, I have the Shadowline package with the all black wheels on my M40i and love the look!

Does it have the Harman Kardon sound system?

Yes, it does. Whoever owned it first loaded the gills out of it.

Ding, ding, I think you have a winner!

You should have a full warranty and have it serviced at any BMW dealer, is there anything aside from the full MSRP that you are concerned about?

Will it be a CPO car? If so, that could offset the premium they are charging by giving you an extended warrantee and will save you in the long run.

Waiting to hear from the dealer to see what if any BS fees they may add along with financing.
I have a 2020 M240i, loaded w/ 2300 mi to trade also.
We’ll see!

Thanks again,
John

The OP said it wasn't from a BMW dealer so how can it be sold as a CPO which comes from a BMW dealer? I may be wrong but i think it is only covered under the original warranty in a case like this.

Are you sure that it wasn't too much wine along with the turkey?

By the way, am I correct that even if it isn't sold by a BMW dealer he is covered by the original warranty?

My only thought is why is a car with 113 miles not at a BMW dealer? I have been offered more than I paid to swap for a new car by BMW.

Would check Carfax and that the warranty is in force & if OK buy the car. You will be very happy with it.

As for the price as a separate item its about as good as you are going to get today. Did my first ever almost full MSRP on the 2022 M4C. Was 16% off the $72,000 MSRP on the Z4 M40i in Feb/March 2020.

Correct, with the vehicle having such low miles and not a BMW dealer does raise a red flag.
Will check Carfax and verify the warranty.
Carfax isn’t foolproof, I’ve read of instances of damaged vehicles being privately
repaired and unreported.

Thanks everyone for the help!
Let’s see if this is too good to be true.

Just an added response here, but you will not be impacted by the chip shortage and canceled options. The carfax is a must to ensure it was not in an accident. The other red flag for me is the 113 miles. Seems odd for someone to trade/sell basically a new vehicle. Is it on consignment?

The balance of the original warranty (4 years/50k miles) will transfer to you automatically, there's no formal process. But the included maintenance (3 years/36k miles) won't transfer, that applies only to the original owner.

I'd agree with everyone else, find out why it has only 113 miles, and if it checks out and you like roadsters, you will be very happy with the car.

I agree about this being strange and it not being at a BMW dealer with such low mileage.

The included maintenance (3 years/36k miles) which he would not receive and does have a dollar value so if this 3rd party dealer wants full MSRP it is really costing him more money than that.

Thanks guys.

Good point regarding the free maintenance.

I think the value, in my case, is limited. The Z4 won't be my primary vehicle so the annual mileage will be low. For example, the 2020 M240i I'm trading in has 2350 mi. with the last oil change done this past Jan.. I would have changed the oil this Jan. regardless although I doubt the dealer would cover the cost with that mileage. Also, I doubt the other covered parts will need replacement in that time frame.

Quick question, is this Z4 at the preowned department of a major car manufacturer's dealer or is it at a used car dealer?

I bought a BMW 1 year old from a non-BMW dealer (long story searching for BMW when my 335i was totaled), to maintain the BMW coverage you must take the car to a BMW dealer for full inspection. If the car passes inspection, you have to pay BMW for the service to be transferred. Failure to perform this task within a certain date range will nullify the warranty. Please check with BMW so you are covered!!!

Hi,

Used car dealer:
https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used...310967733/NONE

Here's the video the dealer shot for me:

I scheduled a Lemon Squad inspection so if it passes, I'll go ahead
with the purchase.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll go down to my servicing dealer and run it by them. This might put a wrench in the deal.
