why would some non BMW dealer have a Z4 M40i with 113 miles? accident? sold at auction ?

Thanks everyone for your comments, support and interest in following this saga.

Hadn't given the PPF and Ceramic much consideration up to this point but will do so. In the past I did have PPF installed on a couple of Corvette C6 ZR1's.

Will give an update once the transport occurs.

Living in Huntington, NY I am sure that you can appreciate the protection that PPF gives to your car. I recommend that you do this asap as you should protect your new baby. Get a PPF like Xpel that has a great reputation and comes with a long warranty.

Question, I received one Fob and one digital key card. Does the vehicle come with more than one fob as in the was done in the past?

It comes with two key fobs, but I think it only comes with one digital card (unless I just don’t remember where the second one went).

I think that refers to phone/watch type devices & card is different but very possible I am wrong.

I just checked and it wasn't there. I recall when my wife picked up her 228i earlier in the year our salesman pointed out the card and told her not to lose it.

I did receive the key card with my vehicle and the salesman mentioned the same thing. don't lose it. Unfortunately, I only received one FOB, thought the vehicle did have the second one, and I'm SOL as the dealer won't spring a second.

Did your vehicle include the Nav, Entertainment, communication manual? Mine didn't and the manual case is already filled up w/ the owners, warranty, tire manuals.

I wonder if digital key deletion means they removed support for NFC (Near Field Communication) as part of removing the wireless charging pad option. Do you see any reference to being able to unlock and start your car with your phone in the manual?

It looks like the manual differentiates between the Key Card and the Digital Key but I'm still not sure if they are the same thing or not. I didn't find anything in the manual talking about how to unlock or start the car with your phone.

On the BMW mygarage it is showing "Deletion of BMW Digital Key" for my car.

This is from the manual about starting the car with the Key Card

Starting the engine
1. Open the cover of the smartphone tray.
2. Place activated Key Card centered into the
smartphone tray.
3. Press the Start/Stop button to start the engine.
