Thank you.

Thank you to everyone on this forum. The information and community have been a real help to me. The passion that the regulars have is amazing. Unfortunately, I'll just be looking in once in a while from now on as I've just canceled my m40i order (at port) due to no touchscreen.

I understand the global supply and labor issues so I know this hasn't been easy for BMW as well as their customers. However, BMW could have handled this better. I would have been happy to get a call from my salesman telling me that my Z was coming 1-2 months later so BMW could catch up on the touchscreens. Oh well.

I was very lucky to find an M4 comp convertible that had just come in as a dealer order and built almost exactly as I would have built it.

Happy motoring!

I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but when you’re spending that kind of money you need to get what you want and feel good about it every time you drive it. The M4 is an awesome alternative that I’m sure you’ll love. Now you’ll have to follow the M4 group!

I had to cancel my order too due to no touch screen.
I was very lucky though to find a z4 close to my taste that was already built and in transit to another dealership in a different state.
Buying an out of state car is complicated, but was totally worth it. Received it a few days ago.
At least you found the car you like which is the most important.

I agree bmw could and should have handled the communication part better. Sellers should inform us instead of the opposite.

Sorry to hear the news, but I think you made out pretty damn well in the end. That M4C is pretty sweet. Congratulations!

Be sure to keep your head against the seat headrest till you are used to the throttle pedal.

I sold my Z4 about 4 months ago and really miss it. I cannot afford to buy a new one (while keeping my X6), but am thinking about a compromise of getting an M4 comp (xDrive) convertible as a year round daily driver and trading in the X6. xDrive is very important to me because of the winter season and I like that the M4 has ventilated seats with heated air collar (something the Z4 really could use). I just don't know how the M4 drives on the highway in comfort mode and does it deliver equal (or better?) top down experience as the Z4?

No allocations are available anywhere so it's a build to order.

This is almost the exact spec I would order, but without the carbon bucket seats and exterior carbon fiber package.

How are you enjoying your M4 so far?

You might have a rely long wait for this M4 Cometion. Last Friday I introduced a friend looking for a 2022 M3 Competition to the salesman I have here in Florida. He was told that the dealership had a list of approximately 25 people that wanted a M3 Competition and about 50 people that simply wanted an M3 and it could take over a year to fill all of those orders. It might be a little sooner with the M4 Competition.

Loving my M4. I'm sure I would have loved a Z4. Actually, I've loved all but one of my 24 cars.

Could you share a picture of the interior lighting and what the lighting on the doors looks like? I'm also curious about the seatbelt comfort.. With the Z4, the seatbelt design makes it ride up into your neck area and that gets uncomfortable. I hope it's not the same on this car.

I agree about the seatbelt cutting into your neck. I recently sat in my friend's Porsche and they do not have that type of issue and the belt is very comfortable.

Seat belt does not cut your neck. One thing is weird it pulls itself tight then sets a little slack.

It's been mostly crappy weather here since I picked up my M4 (rain, snow, ice) so here's a pic taken on delivery day at the dealer.
