So it looks like cars builded before July 2020, and equipped with confort access, will just be able to use the card key provided with the car and or an Android phone.
From this date and on, the card key and iphone, but no Android. Unless they figure out how to software update new and older vehicles with confort access to work with all devices, not 100% of the buyers will be happy. Guess they will do it and then charge for it every year.

The card key provided by the dealer with the confort access is a good idea since it's like a credit card you can store in your wallet and use to open or start your car. Maybe you go diving, swimming etc. and don't want to take your standard key. The wallet card key will survive any extreme sport environment.

It won't survive being used whilst charging your phone at the same time though...
Unfortunately my key card no longer works having used it to start the car then placing my phone to charge on top of it... I later found this associated service bulletin... https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...61575-9999.pdf Just thought it might be worth sharing my misfortune. |

You are talking about magnetic fields generated between your phone and the charging pad. That I guess you will not find it in nature.
Just as an example, I usually go diving on weekends and the card goes with me down there in my jacket. Gets wet and deep, and when I go back to my car it works.
