WOW! Am I reading this correctly...of 146 that are in the build process or at the dealer, 27 are autos and 119 are manual? Very interesting.

I'd say that's some pent-up demand...will be very curious if this trend continues or if it settles to something closer to 50/50 over time.

Genius said they could supply boat info once it was available. She quoted 4-6 weeks from time car leaves Austria.

I could've my car delivered in a week or 2, but nooooo..... I just had to do PCD. With my vacay in first week of May, probably going to be mid-May before I can pick up the car.

She may be optimistic. The most significant factor will be how long it sits at Bremerhaven waiting to be loaded onto a ship. Most other phases can be roughly estimated.

Bummer. I gave you an "appreciate" but it's more for sympathy.

My dealer did get an allocation, finally, a few weeks ago and I got it since I was first on the list, and was the one that basically got them to create this list and find out from corporate if it'd be a real car someday.

You might call around to other dealers? I guess I don't know how allocations work, if they get too many orders do they stop handing them out?

It was in the pain booth like 2 weeks, was in assembly yesterday, and is now apparently awaiting a carrier.

If you've not previously done the Performance Center Delivery, you will certainly enjoy that experience...I distinctly remember them saying during our driving exercises last spring when we got our x3 M40i in Greer, "Not your car, not your tires, not your gas...go for it".

Very professionally run... short orientation/safety class kicks off your morning before you have several driving experiences in a new BMW similar to yours before you enjoy lunch and then your vehicle delivery experience. You can also experience a short off-road session in a x5 , tour the Zentrum BMW museum and perhaps a factory tour IF its not closed for some reason.

ENJOY! (and perhaps share your delivery photo too!)

Is it even possible to to PCD for the Z4? I thought the US PCD only did X series these days.

While the BMW PCD webpage has not yet been updated, I am helping a friend ferry his current BMW back from Greer next month after he picks up his new M2...so yes, it appears one can request other than "Greer built" x models for PCD.

If interested in PCD, I'd certainly ask my Client Advisor to confirm that possibility and ensure you check that your order specifies Brunswick port of entry as that is where inbound PCD vehicles are delivered to the U.S.

I'm remembering a user here, JustinHemi, has his allocation up for grabs after a change in family financials. It's his order, actually, I think it's pretty far along, painted Thundernight with red interior. If that's a color combo you'd like, look back in this section of the forum for more info.
