If you have an iPhone, you can also add the digital key to your iPhone's "Apple Wallet" and use your phone instead of the key fob.

Just ask your salesperson to throw them in on the deal as a way of saying thank you from the dealership for your patronage. My SA has done that on both our our BMW's. He also gave me a BMW t-shirt and "M" tire valve caps when i picked up my Z4.

Living in St. Louis where you experience all 4 seasons they are a must and in addition as previously mentioned they really look great in the car.

Nothing to forgive; just a bit of a dig/in joke as there is usually someone who jumps in to remind us that the M40i is an "M sport" model not a "real" M. .....but don't let it concern you; the M40i outperforms all previous Z models, including those with a real "M"

My car is showing scheduled for production now!!!!!!!!! Is there anyway to tell what tentative date its scheduled?

I am very curious about production and delivery times now. My 30i was about 7 weeks. Kinda hoping that when I trade up to an M40i that it’s a little longer lol.

I have been waiting for my X5 to move out of "Production begins", where nothing is actually built, but I think the parts needed for the build are collected. So I call the Genius hot line (1-844-443-6487). When going through the menu, you will want to select "talk with an agent". Once I was connected to a human, I asked for my build status. They wanted the production number or the VIN and I was told when the build will actually start. In my case it will start next week.

I called BMW Genius, they gave me a build date of Feb 6. I don't know if that's the begin date or the end date, but either way its exciting!!!! I hope it doesn't get delayed.

When I called on my X5 they gave me a range of dates (15th thru 21) and indicated the build would start sometime during that week. Sounds like they gave you the actual build start date. The Z4s are built in Austria and the X5s are built in South Carolina, so they may have different ways of designating the build dates.

For my M40i, I was given January 30th through February 3rd. I guess we will see. I am doing the PCD. I was thinking April 1st seems like a realistic timeframe to actually take delivery. What do other think?

I called and was told my M40 is in Assembly process with a completion date of Jan 20th. (Dispite the fact that the web site says the car is in “Production Begins” status).

I’m hoping to have Performance Center Delivery scheduled by the end of February 😬
