Just saw this on Autotrader, if anyone is curious.

Congrats! Consider joining the Z Series Car Club of America (ZSCCA.org). We are an active bunch, and our annual ZFEST is in Branson in August. That's just a hop, skip and jump from you.
Might I suggest Cocomats (https://www.cocomats.com) for your car. We have them in our three BMWs, and very pleased. They don't slide around and wear as quickly as the OEM ones.

We will have to agree to disagree on the mats. I have found that the OEM rubber mats are really durable and they definitely do not slide around. My wife's mats in her 2021 228i aren't showing any wear or tear and after a year and 5 months the ones in my 2022 Z4 look virtually brand new.

I am speaking from the 3 series here, but I assume it would be the same on the Z4.
I have a 22 Z4M40i with a Jul 1st build date. The wireless charging pad was not available, and without the charging pad, the digital key was deleted as well. I don't think I will miss either.

I think I’ve used the digital key maybe 2-3 times in the 2 years I’ve had my car. Since I gotta carry house keys anyway, just easier to use the car key.

Yes, the OEM mats have a velcro backing that attaches to pads on (actually through) the carpet. They are stuck down very well. I would recommend them (I changed them out to Weathertech because I didn't like the way my heel felt on the rubber, not a knock against the mats).

Get smart door locks, they're cheap and work amazing in the 2 years we've them. I can go entirely keyless, open the car with my phone/watch and the doors Auto Unlock when I pull into the garage.

Sadly, the St. Louis group doesn't appear to be very active. Apparently, they're struggling to find someone to step up to be area rep.

I have also looked at joining, but the closest chapter is 5 plus hours away. That makes for a long Saturday trip just to meet u and go home the same day. That what I get for living where I do I guess.

A lot of the test reports in the magazines call it an M-Lite. Seems to fit pretty well.

You may wish to save $500 on the wireless charging option which has had too many issues reported on this forum. Do a search and you will find numerous posts about overheating.

Instead you may wish to add the active cruise control for $550 which I really wanted but couldn't get on my 2022 because the car was already at a dealer without it and I didn't want to wait for a new factory build.

Also consider the BMW all weather rubber floor mats that are great looking and will protect your carpet from the elements that you will track into your car. In my opinion, these mats give the interior a sleek, hi tech look.
The wireless charging works excellently for me I guess it maybe just depends on phone type?

What type do you have, is it in a case, is it a magsafe case? I'm just curious if certain criteria affect overheating more than others.

Mine is an iPhone 13 Pro in a magsafe case typically running Waze and Apple Music, possibly a triple whammy for overheating.

I’ve used an iPhone 12 Pro Max, 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max with the charger in my 3 series. No cases. Still overheats the phone. I have a wireless charger on my desk, and it works fine, so I’m leaning towards it being the charger and not the phone.

This is why I have suggested that people save $500 and not order the wireless charging option.

I find that wireless CarPlay works very well (however, I currently prefer the BMW navigation over Apple Maps - but do miss a lot of the maps features).

If it makes you happy to know...I took your advice and did not order the wreless charger. I don't miss it. I have not had a point yet that I was so desperate for a charge that a small USB charging cable couldnt handle.

I actually keep two short USB charging cables in a small case in the arm rest, so if my wife and I both forgot to charge our phones we just use those. No need for a phone oven in the car.

You don’t need the charger for wireless CarPlay though. But yes, CarPlay works great.

I don't have wireless charging in my 2022 and also use wireless CarPlay every time I get behind the wheel and it works perfectly To me they are totally separate issues.

As for GPS, when I drive at night I like the way the BMW nav appears in my HUD. I wish that BMW would integrate Waze and Google maps into the HUD as in my opinion Waze is the best nav program to use.

My wife and I both use a coiled 3 foot charging cable so there is never a cable hanging over the side of the center console.
