70s and 80s in CA

Feel sorry for folks in other parts of the country with -40 temperatures. That sounds colder than Antarctica!

Cold weather is a small price to pay for a 60 minute (each way) shorter commute.

Having seasons isn't as bad as it's made out to be...

This picture of Jim Brader shows what it's like to be a meteorologist in Alaska. The photo was taken as Brader was on his way to the Snag airstrip in Yukon, Canada. Snag was the site of the lowest temperature ever recorded in North America.

On February 3rd, 1947, weather men etched a notch in the thermometer, because the mercury was below the lowest indicator marks. When the thermometer was analyzed later, it was found that the temperature would've read -81.4°F (-63°Celsius). In temperatures that low, the voices of people could be heard four miles away. Frozen breath hangs in the air for up to 15 minutes, making it easy to find where someone has gone.

-40 isn't a season... that's a different planet, an uninhabitable one. It's in the 50s at night here and it's cold as fuck! That's as much seasons as I can handle.

50's in Denver today and I don't have to live in the hellhole of Southern California. I get more than enough of that dump the 6-10 times a year I'm out there for work!

I was born and raised in CA and am so glad to be away from there

Actually, when I first read the thread title I was thinking it might be about the 1970's and 80's in California

I was just in SF and it was 50s and sunny every day. When I left Seattle it was snowing and it looks like the rest of the country is in a deep freeze. You'd never know it living in CA!

I'm one of the people that love love love the change of seasons and really frigid weather. It's the whining and bitching about it that I can't stand.

I don't know about the frigid weather part, but I agree on the change of seasons.

I love the snow and I love driving in the snow. I just don't love driving with all the other idiots in the snow. I want to be the only idiot out there

I agree 100% about driving in the snow. We had a small 3" snowfall today and I had such a great drive in it this morning, nobody else on the road. So squeaky and peaceful. Then came home and played with my new snowblower, so much fun.

I love it when CA people be scared of hurricanes yet live under the constant threat of earthquakes, fires, draught, crazy taxes and million dollar mortgages on their 600 sqft mobile home.

We haven't had a major earthquake in a good while.

Million dollar mortgages? 600 sq ft mobile home? Exaggerate much?

Hurricanes come every year in and around your neck of the woods.
