Had one really enjoyable NYE (mid-80's) at the castle in Nürnberg, Germany. The fireworks were amazing. No other NYE has ever been that awesome and for decades I've just sat at home and watched it on TV. Really no big deal to me.

I'm going out for the first time in years as a close friend just opened a new restaurant and I'm lending my support. I did NYC in the early 80's before the stupid rules were engaged. Nothing has beat that for me, yet!

I like celebrating the New Years.....it's a chance for people to see the New Year as a time of renewal and chance to change themselves....and to party and let loose whatever that may be!

Overrated. Maybe ok in the 80s and early 90s when I was younger but even then never cared much about it. Overpriced night out with many drunk drivers on the road.

Depends who you are with. Most are just boring. Went to a new years party at a college dorm with a bunch of drunk sorority girls once... that was fun lol.

Ever since 9/11 (could go further back) you're allowed to enter in the Times Square area and cannot leave the area that you enter. Plus it's way too crowded to even attempt. No booze allowed and security is nuts at least in 04 when I went. Saw people pissing on the side streets and a late 30s couple said they been coming for years wear adult diapers just in case. I thought it was cool but would never do it again.

i think after the age of 12 most holidays are irrelevant. the concept of the holidays are nice, it's just not the same as an "adult"
