Vettel vs Alonso
Best quote of the race from David Hobbs regarding the battle between these two........"He won't let me pass....I'm going to go and tell my Daddy!"
The British accent just killed it!!!

Awesome drives from Alonso and Bottas. Vettel is such a serious whiner.
Lady Luck finally visits Hamilton and abandons Nico. She must be an F1 fan and wants to see it stay close.

It seems like in every one of these threads, I feel the need to comment on Chilton's idiocy.
I can't believe he drove in to the pit on a red flag. That could've been very dangerous for any number of pit crews |

He had just had an alloy wheel miss his head by a couple of inches and was pretty shaken up, had damage to the car and didn't realise he wasn't allowed to enter the pit lane under red flag.

I'm sure that was startling, but I don't think negligence is a good defence in this case. If he's competing on track he should know all the rules and regs especially when it comes to safety

Normal would be for the team to tell him to box.
Max didn't say whether the team called him in or he made his own choice. But fair comment they should all know the regs. |

I know they're broadcasting a lot more radio traffic these days than they did a few years ago, but in all the races I've seen going back to 1994, I don't recall ever hearing Michael whine about another driver even once. He may have rammed other drivers, but that's a different issue. The whining from Vettel is over the top. It really belies the cool, calculating, machine-like driver image he's tried to project over the years.

When Vettel finally executed the pass, Alonso let out a stream of whining that probably exceeded the numerous Vettel transmissions. I forgive them. It's one thing to be calm and calculating off track, during practice, providing feedback to engineers, even quali. In a prolonged track battle @ 150 mph and 6 G's I'm ok with them losing it. That blend of emotion and serious talent made for an incredible fight.

^ Exactly, imagine having to road rage while having to radio-in how you feel. I can't believe they can talk so much while doing that. Really shows that their drive is part of their instinct.

Vettel complaining about Alonso not leaving him enough room is a joke. It is racing bud, deal with it. Vettel's car isn't the most dominate car this year. So he has to earn his overtakes.
That was one of the more entertaining parts of the race. Both of them complaining about track limits was hilarious. |

I wonder where Williams would be if they had Ricciardo as one of their drivers?
He has pulled some pretty impressive results from the clearly much slower Red Bull. |

Can't believe how much he eeked out of those 'Option' tyres. Was happy he just made it to the finish line before BUT was able to pass him

Re: Max.
"John Booth, Marussia team principal “A very eventful first lap today and luckily the only damage as far as our team was concerned was damage to Max’s car rather than himself, so he was extremely lucky in this respect. We called Max in soon after the incident due to the need to change his front wing and check his front suspension, which the wheel had hit. Later in the lap we received the red flag notification but due to a radio issue we weren’t able to get the message through to Max to go straight to the grid. " |

Ha. Exactly. He clearly is in agony when interviewed, and I'm in agony listening to it.
