DO any of you have dashcams in your Z4??
Im looking into dashcams for my 2022 z4.
Does anyone know if its possible to hardwire a dashcam in the fuse box? if so which dashcam do you recommend? Any info on this would be great. |

I recently bought the Vantrue E1, sold on Amazon. It's a pretty decent small footprint dash cam with a WiFi to your Smart Phone feature. Vantrue also sells a wiring kit that piggybacks a fuse in the glovebox.

Rove R2-4K Dash Cam
I mount my camera before heading out on road trips. It suctions on nicely to left area (non-touch glass) of the Infotainment screen. A couple of pics:

By the way, I hope that you added some pressure to your tires when driving at these high speeds. The manual recommends 38 pounds (front & rear) when driving over 100 mph.

This was a one-off top speed run. I was averaging mid 80's through the vast expanse of Wyoming with occasional runs into the 100's, but I'm not suicidal. That run was a bucket list accomplishment never to be done again. The road was empty and in decent condition, there was little to no vegetation where antelope could jump out from and I could see for miles up the road - pedal to the metal! |

Same for the max inflation pressure listed on your tire sidewall (as far as I know) - that's the max cold inflation pressure, it's actually fine if the pressure exceeds that number while you're driving. The recommended pressure shown on the iDrive tire page is adjusted based on the current temperature (the tire pressure sensors also measure temperature). In iDrive you can go to the tire settings and choose whether you will be driving at over/under 100mph. Then, it'll always show you an accurate temperature-adjusted recommended tire pressure. You've got to admit you teed that one up for me!
The only downside to my installation is that it requires mounting the camera upside down. The video is easily flipped but using the controls while the camera is mounted is a little tricky. Working really well for me and the short USB cable tucks neatly away so their aren't cables hanging everywhere. |

If you haven't been out west you will be amazed at the lack of cars on the roads in Wyoming and Montana. In the old days, there was no speed limit in many places. The rule was "reasonable and prudent" so you might not get ticketed for driving a Lambo at 125 mph but you might get pulled over for driving a beat-up old clunker driving at 80 mph. If I'm on the interstates on the east coast I'm cruising at 79 mph (really 76 as my speedometer overstates my speed by 3 mph) and really don't care about speed traps. |

Number 5 on my programmable buttons is tire pressure. I check it before heading out every time. Cold tire pressure of 32 psi before leaving the garage. |

I was worried about how altitude would affect the tire pressure as I went from sea level to mile high over a couple of days. As it turned out, the heat of the tires was the main driver of the higher psi. |

On that note, I’ve noticed that the recommended tire pressure changes for both front and rear. I’m assuming based on current ambient temperature and tire temperature?
