MB C300 migh be better than E90!!

Yesterday I stop by the MB dealership and noticed the new C300 sport sedan. The car looks sweet. I am set on getting a 328i sedan but c300 looks so much better IMHO. Anyways, anyone actually driven one yet?

I know MB starts at lower price with a lot more standard equip. than BMW 328.

check out the following review:
Link: http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...ban-dink-.html

I am going to get setup a test drive and then make my final decision. On paper it seems a like better car than BMW (I know I am about get flammed here). I know BMW will have better handling and driving dynamics but honestly I find BMW e90 sedan boring and with no character.

Another interesting thing I noticed is that all other car forum on the net seem to think all car mags alway favor the BMW brand. It a very common complaint at one of MB forums.

Because people on car forums and writers for car mags actually like to DRIVE their cars. MBs are dull and disconnected and are for people who don't like to drive.

Honestly, if yout think that the C300 is better than the 328i, then go ahead with the MB. In the end, you'll be the one driving the car, not us. So, just get what you think will be better for you.

I think the new MB C-class style looks ugly....
In some areas, it copies Bimmer
what do some of you think?

I don't know about copying BMW but I don't like the looks of the new C-Class.

That's just my $.02

I think the old C class was nice the sports sedan. Just looked sporty. But the new one also looks sporty. Just the back is ugly and looks like some other cars. Like the Sebring.

But same goes for BMW the back of E90's look like a Hyundai.

Yes and I wrote a review on it.. They are two different cars, one is sporty and one is luxury. I felt the C300 overall resembled a lexus on the interior and the E90 still had the better visual build quality and in terms of touch the E90 won out also.

Beauty of America: Competition, it is a good thing for all us.

there was thread on this forum that stated thtat BMW might raise E90 price by ~6% i don't see how they can do that. Considering the fact that MB lowered the price and IS and Infiniti are offering more equipped cars at a lower cost. i wonder how BMW will price e90/e92 for 08 model yr.

hmmm...I gotta go check this out myself. I kinda liked the old C-class- it looked sporty and nice sometimes. However, I didnt like the interior and the interior room. I also didnt like the way it drove and the way it felt on the road. Hopefully this new C is better. I guess I wont know til I test drive it.

i wasn't even considering the MB but I went MB dealer since my car was being serviced next door at Honda. I have to say the car looks so much better in real like. The AMG wheels on the sport model are standard and look real nice. I haven't driven it yet so all initial reaction is based only on how the car looks.

You know a Toyota camry is "better" than a 328 to some people too right?

Depends on what you define as better, looks are subjective.

If you like the C class then go get it. why waste ur time here convincing everyone else of your decision, this board is full of biased owners so no one will care if you like the MB.

I've been dreaming about the SL 55 AMG for quite some time now, one day i'm gonna sell all my bikes, my car, my beater car, all my stamp collection to be able to put a down payment a used one.

At that point, maybe the SL 65 would be a better option. Same car, more power.

Yeah but he may have to sell one of his kidneys and if he has already only one kidney left, it won't pretty...

When my car in the dealer for HPFP issue, I got 328 loaner. One day, I brought the loaner to MB dealer pretending that I was dissappointed with BMW and I wanted to get another car that was MB C350. I told that story to the Sales guy and he gave me test drive on C300 because new C-class was not released yet and that was only test mule for the dealer. So, I gave it a shot and I think it was a good comparison with the 328 loaner.

Exterior, I like the front look so much. It looks like a small CL-class but some MBworld member dislike the way MB put large 'silver arrow' symbol on the grill. But, I like that, better than the one on the hood. Other than that, the car looks awful. It has huge side mirror like SUV, my friend said that many customers complained about the small side mirror and now MB put huge mirror. The back looks like Civic coupe so much. You might see it as a luxury version of Civic coupe. Plus, the trunk looks so big from outside.

Interior is very impressive. It's a classy MB layout with luxury and modern touch. The button looks expensive. The seat is softer than BMW, you might like it. You'll have enough room for the rear passangers. But I has no Bvlgari watch like the CL-class

Performance, this car is nothing compare 328. It is less responsive. The sales guy said that because I usually drive 335, C350 might feel close to my 335. I think not even close. It also has bad handling, you won't feel the tires gripping the road. I guess, MB purposely build it to keep the title 'passanger vehicle'. I suppose it'll feel much better to be a passanger in MB than BMW.

I personally prefer the old W203 than W204 because the new one doesn't make much different in regard the performance but looks much better than W204. Still, you need to test drive it if you want to buy one

Overreact much? I missed the part where he said that BMW was God's gift to the automotive universe. Perhaps you can point that out for me. What I got from his statement is that, on average, MB's are a little numb when compared to similar BMWs. I would tend to agree.

I'm tired of people saying how MB feels likes is disconnected from the road and crap like that. I have a e350, yea its not the most powerful in a straight line but it handles quiet well. The s/cl/cls models handle like a dream. Dont even get me started on the amgs.

These cars are not boats people, why dont some of you get out and drive one instead of being bmw fan boys, its getting realling annoying. Btw im not targeting anyone specific but you know who u are.

and in all seriosness the c300 does look nicer than the e90. sorry.

I dont think you need to validate your experiences. It just gives fanboys more ammo.

Im with you as Im an enthusiast and enjoy driving in general. I can find the good and bad in every car. There are things about the 335 that Im nit picky about that I dont like, its just the nature of the beast.

I had one of the first hands on experience reviews(with pics) of the new C300 on this forum and I wrote that I loved the steering response. I felt it was quicker and more on point than the BMW's. Most people who make these erronious statements have never driven the car they so speak about. They hear something, think its valid, then spew it out over and over again.

Take these stupid nonfactual posts with a grain of salt, I always do.

I agree, I think the new C300 Sport is gorgeous. It looks way better than a base 328i (with it's puny 16's) at a better price.
