Do you mean an engine refresh is due 03/24 and the US-one is different from the ROW, or is there just a refresh planned for the US?

It's awfully quiet about that model. The eDrive35 got some attention and is available on the configurators but nothing on the xDrive40...

Could be a refresh for US only.

I've just checked - the delay is for all markets.

Noob q: say if the LCI is on 04/23, then will the updated car will be a 23 or 24 model?
I'm trying to get a x5 45e but it sounds like worth wating the LCI for the huge HP bump. I wonder when will the updated car arrive at dealership.

2024. BMW won't split a model year with an LCI so the current 2023MY X5 is the last model year before they switch over to iDrive 8

For an April/may production date when would you be placing the order?

We're holding out for the LCI in the UK

That depends on your dealer allocation. You should be able to place an order now and specify you want a production date of April/May. Typically, for the dealer I work with, I would be talking to the dealer now but putting in the order no later than 90 days before so about February. If your dealer has a big backlog then an earlier order might be better. Your dealer will be able to tell you how long their queue is based on their build slots that were just allocated. Just keep in mind that production schedules can change so make sure you specify and document what you want before signing anything.

Doesn’t work like that in the UK.

Don’t place an order now for an LCI as there is no LCI order book. Placing order now will result in a pre LCI car being delivered.

No UK dealer would do a place holder on a car that they have no official details of either.

Judging by X7, production of that started 07/22 but was available to order from 04/22 in UK so you’re probably looking at January to place an order

Target levels

Targets (2020-2024)
For the period 2020-2024, Regulation (EU) 2019/631 confirms the EU fleet-wide CO2 emission targets set under Regulations (EC) No 443/2009 and (EU) No 510/2011.
  • Cars: 95 g CO2/km
  • Vans: 147 g CO2/km
These target levels refer to the NEDC emission test procedure. From 2021 onwards, the emission targets for manufacturers will be based on the new WLTP emission test procedure.
Specific emission targets are set annually for each manufacturer. Those targets are based on the EU fleet-wide targets and take into account the average mass of the manufacturer’s new vehicles registered in a given year, using a limit value curve. This means that manufacturers of heavier cars are allowed higher average emissions than manufacturers of lighter cars. The curve is set in such a way that the targets for the EU fleet-wide average emissions are achieved.
For manufacturers of passenger cars 2020 is a phase-in year: the specific emission targets will apply only to the 95% least emitting new cars in their fleet.

Targets (2025-2030)
Starting in the years 2025 and 2030, Regulation (EU) 2019/631 sets stricter EU fleet-wide CO2 emission targets, which are defined as a percentage reduction from the 2021 starting points.
  • Cars: 15% reduction from 2025 on and 37.5% reduction from 2030 on
  • Vans: 15% reduction from 2025 on and 31% reduction from 2030 on
The annual specific emission targets of each manufacturer will be based on these EU fleet-wide targets, taking into account the average test mass of its newly registered vehicles.

Penalties for excess emissions
If the average CO2 emissions of a manufacturer's fleet exceed its specific emission target in a given year, the manufacturer has to pay – for each of its vehicles newly registered in that year – an excess emissions premium of €95 per g/km of target exceedance.

Any info on how extensive changes will be on the M3 LCI2? And the timing if it will coincide with the 4 series 3/24 LCI?

Thanks!

Thanks, ynguldyn.

Any insight if the 3 LCI2 is going to be more of a design change on the same CLAR platform?

Is there anything at all known if we will be getting a M2 xdrive variant even if we wouldn't be receiving a Comp one?

Yeah, if it is an LCI it will just be a design change on top of the current chassis, like BMW grafting the G70 7 series headlights onto the X7 LCI.

330e possible high voltage battery upgrade?

Does anybody know whether BMW is planning to upgrade the 330e high voltage battery pack? Currently it is 12 kWh gross and 11.2 kWh net but it's a bit outdated as other manufacturers (Mercedes, Audi, Skoda or even the BMW 230xe) have bigger battery than what the current 330e has. The last update was in 2019/06 when the G20 330e released but the G30 530e was updated as well (9.2->12).
Thanks.

G60: SOP, V8 non-M5?

Hi Folks,

a few questions about the G60 info at the beginning of this thread:

* Is SOP really 7/23? For the G30, the presentation was in 10/16, and sales started in 2/17. Does this mean that the G60 is ahead of the normal 7 year schedule? When do you expect it can be bought?

* Regarding engines: The Future Models info suggests there will be a 540i - will that include Europe? There are also mentions of 550e and 560e - but how about a V8, like the G70 760i in the US, will there be a V8 gasoline powered 560i (similar to the current M550i)? Or will the only V8 be the new M5?

If anyone has any thoughts on this or happens to know anything - please let me know. Thanks

With the M560e (B58+em) at 565hp your only v8 option is going to the the M5 (s68+em)
