My Z4 6MT entered production today and now has a VIN. I was told my build week was March 10, but apparently they are ahead of schedule. 🎉

According to the website, our car entered the paint booth earlier this week. Guessing it will be completed by the end of next week.

For those with a build sheet, does Park Distance Control (code 508) show up on your sheet? The ordering guide shows it as part of the Driving Assistance Package (ZDA), but it isn’t shown on the build sheet from the dealer. My SA says not to worry it is included, but wondering how it appears for others. Thanks!

Thanks for confirming! It is confusing because the build sheet lists the three other components within ZDA (e.g. Lane Departure Warning / ZN4) as sub items within that package but not PDC.

Someone on here confirmed it for me last year, and they were correct.

A good summary I found here from a few years ago (the pics of the parking cam differences helped too) -
[QUOTE]I have ACC & Parking Assistant. ACC is awesome in traffic and on long drives. My understanding is Parking Assistant (5DM) enhances Park Distance Control (508) with low speed side protection (additional sensors) and active braking: -Active PDC (prevents or limits risk of collision during parking maneuvers via the brakes) -Rear View Camera (produces an additional image with parking guidelines if vehicle also has 5AS/Rear Cross Traffic Warning) -Parking Assistant: the car parks autonomously both in parallel and perpendicular to the driving lane -Reverse Assistant: driving forward within 35km / h the system memorizes the last 50m of the road and the obstacles present, by engaging the reverse gear the system takes control of the steering and retraces the road traveled in reverse. The driver remains responsible for the accelerator and brake. 508: Attachment 2605104 5DM: Attachment 2605105 https://www.bmwzclub.it/public/2019-...01.03.2019.pdf |

Does this email from BMW mean mine is actually in now? My CA isn't in today to confirm.

I didn't get such an email last year when my order went in and I had never gone in person to that dealer (all dealings with the SA were through email).

My wild guess is your production number should be provided within 2 weeks and actual production should start within 4-6 weeks. Keep us posted |

I’d prefer all black too but really want the staggered setup from the factory so I’ll have powder coated if the bicolor doesn’t work.

Got my "Order Confirmed" on Feb 23 for order placed 2/14. I have perceived this to mean that my order was accepted by BMW - with an allocation. Also, means to me that getting into production que is next step. Glad to hear it could be in next two weeks. Anybody got any input on whether I am right or wrong?

CA texted and said they got allocation and looks like April production. Didn't send me the production number though.
