Anyone having problem with iDrive retaining previously synced contacts from iPhone?

My issue is that every now and then the iPhone doesn't connect with the car. If I reboot phone or delete Bluetooth profile either on car or on phone, it works again.

I use CarPlay as primary, but either way, even if I use iDrive I see no phone connected and the car trying to establish connection every 30 secs or so.

With my issue, it's iDrive, not CarPlay.
Don't know if it's the phone or a fault in iDrive, but it's frustrating to have to re-pair phone to car each morning just to make a call.
