Will we be able to retroactively install as a software upgrade as I have a 2020 m340 with live cockpit pro. Also a Samsung G9

YES! If you have iDrive 7.0 you will get it, eventually. I saw an article just yesterday from an Australian car mag saying the roll out would be region-by-region. No indication of over how many months the rollout will be, though.
