Various Suspension listings:
Can someone say what the difference is between:
Adaptive M Suspsension vs. M Sport Suspension vs. Adaptive M Chassis? I see all of those listed under mdecoder...and see ZMP for M Sport Package vs. 337 for M Sport Package vs. 704 for M sport suspension vs. 2VF for Adaptive M Suspsension in the Ordering Guide. It's a tad befuddling w/out direction descriptions to use. |

Its confusing
ZMP/337 packages come together on US market G29 cars. When you order the M Sport package (ZMP) you automatically get the group of options that come under 337 also. They both appear on my build sheet. The ZMP shows $2950.00 and the 337 shows N/C.
Both packages bring mostly trim changes to the front and rear of the car and some other M markings. To get the best suspension on a 3.0 car you need to order the ZMP/337 package AND the 2VF package. The 2VF does not come with the ZMP/337 package. Its another $700 in the US. 2VF gives you the adaptive suspension set up which is std on the M40 but optional on the 3.0. Thats the suspension you want to have on all versions of the G29. Its awesome. When you order ZMP you also want to look at upgrading the wheels. There are better wheels available than the ZMP wheels. Hope that helps. |

Ok good info...so assuming then if a 30i does not also order 2VF, then the car won’t have the ‘Adaptive’ setting button just above Auto Hold?
The car I’m looking at does have both...only thing I think it’s lacking is heated steering wheel, which is a bit of a bummer. It has 19” black alloys on it. Just need to work em on trade-in... |

Not exactly
You cant go by the appearance of the button to determine what suspension the car has. You have to find out if the car has the $700 adaptive suspension option on the sticker.
The button is on all cars but on non-adaptive cars it only controls throttle adjustments not suspension. The button is deceiving on BMWs. Maybe they'll swap out the wheels for silver ones. I don't like the black wheels either. I ordered 799M silver wheels on my car. |

No Adaptive drive button is not on all 30i’s...maybe 50% or so from what I’ve been seeing online.
Example photo 26/36. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing Oh and the black wheels actually look good on frozen grey...I think. |

Ill try again
Maybe I didn't explain this well. Every single G29 Z4 has buttons in the center by the shifter that say Sport...Comfort...Eco. When you buy a 30i and don't pay extra for the Adaptive suspension option these buttons only control the transmission shift points - they do not control the suspension. You get the standard "sport suspension". Its not adjustable. So cars without 2VF have one suspension setting and it does not change.
The exception to this is the M40i model which comes with V2F Adaptive suspension as standard. So on the 30i you have to pay $700 to be able to adjust the suspension from softer (comfort) to really firm (sport plus). If you have a 30i and have not bought the 2VF option the buttons do nothing to adjust your suspension. Im not saying that the "base" suspension is bad - just that its not adjustable without the 2VF option. |
