Not a very good review but would you say offers a good real life representation of the Misano Blue, particularly around 7:50?

No, that video does not show the colour as it is in real life. My Misano Blue M40i is a much brighter colour than that. The photos earlier in this thread are more true to life colour.
Hope that helps you tmehanna. Happy motoring. Enjoy your car when it arrives.

Thanks Jim. I am still nowhere closer to understanding what the color looks like in real life I just hope it doesn't turn out to be close to the Liquid Blue I had on my F30 because I wasn't a fan. I loved Estoril Blue though

For what it's worth, one of the Z4s I test drove was this blue. I liked it so much I ordered my m40i with that color. My wife wasn't sure she liked that color from the videos / photos and I didn't understand why. So it's all a matter of personal taste. The funny thing is, when she saw it in person, she loved it. I saw very little difference between the photos / videos and real life. I guess we all perceive things a little different.

I had an Estoril Blue 428i M Sport+ Gran Coupe F36 and it was nice. Misano Blue is slightly lighter in shade and looks like a plain non metallic until you get close to it. I get lots of nice comments on the Misano Blue, more than I did on the Estoril Blue.
Don’t worry about it, I am sure you will love it. Great to drive as well. The only problem I have is stones getting into the brakes; see my separate thread.
Happy motoring.

Just had a look at some old pictures of Liquid Blue. It looks very similar to Bluewater which is a very light blue, almost silver.

Estoril Blue is an M Sport only colour, ie you only can get it on M Sport models and about every second BMW I see on the road is Estoril Blue.

Misano Blue is very much more exclusive, as was Liquid Blue, so for that reason you may prefer it as you won't see many of them on the road.

Enjoy your car when it comes. Is it an M40i?

Just my twopence worth.

Happy motoring.
I just received my VIN number and realized that it doesn't have the M-brakes, only the M-Sport package. As much as I am disappointed I will not have the extra bite and the blue calipers, I am a little relieved because I often drive on a gravel path to get to my beach house (300 miles away from the nearest service center.

This photo shows the true to life colour quite well. A lot different to the video representation. Hope this helps.

I finally found the best color for the new 2020 Z4 M40i. It's called Soapy and it looks amazing.

You shouldn't be using car shampoo on your top!

I coated my soft top with Gtechniq I1 Smart Fabric Coat V2 and it works a treat. Water just runs off like on a duck's back. Quite expensive, about £20 UK, but well worth it. Should last quite a long time as well.

Unless it's only good enough for a single treatment, £20 is by no means expensive compared to similar products. I will give it a try. Do you have the black or the anthracite top?

I have the black top. You can only coat it again after the waterproofing wears off. I garage my car so this is likely to be a long time but if the car sits outside it might be after a year or so.

Agreed - not a fan of his presentation style at all but the video does show off the color scheme well. First time I got to see what my car will look like (almost...)! I went with the frozen grey & black 799Ms but the anthracite top and cognac interior.

I believe the 800M in flat Cerium Grey would have been a perfect match for the flat grey, specially with the anthracite top. The lava red interior would have also offered the perfect contrast aesthetically IMHO. I understand that opinions and preferences differ of course. I love the frozen grey but the maintenance is just to high for me.

I meant to add that, yes, the £20 bottle only does one coat.

Definitely see where you're coming from, I personally just like the contrast of the black wheels. And for me, the red interior is just a bit too "loud."

Having owned several soft tops, the sealants I use (303, Raggtop) never last longer than a few weeks. My cars are also always garaged and the tops never see rain more than once or twice in their entire lives as it's very dry where I live, just the weekly wash. I would be very pleasantly surprised if this lasts 3 months.
