What are people paying?

Out of curiosity, how much are people paying for their Z4?

When I bought my 135 I ordered it and got some money off sticker and based on what people on the forum were paying I would say I got a decent deal if not outstanding.

Just curious what I can expect on this car.

I ordered the M40i in November and negotiated 11% off MSRP plus the current month BMW incentives (loyalty & APR credits). It did take a while to get there and was offered anywhere from 2% - 8% off MSRP from other dealerships.

I got between 9 to 10% off with incentives and bargaining. I was happy with that because it was the only vehicle in the area with both option packages and 18” wheels (which was much more preferable to me than 19” wheels...).

I got no deal... paid sticker. I was offered $3500Cdn off the one in the showroom, but it wasn't a color I wanted. So another was brought in and no discount given.

$100K Canadian after tax for an M40i

Be good to see some numbers. Will order one about $70,000 MSRP next month for PCD if the price is good. Current 440 goes back in June

Yeah I was figuring at least I could get them off sticker enough to cover sales tax and whatever other fees I can't negotiate away, so out-the-door I would end up paying sticker. Maybe I can do a little better.

The thing with toy cars like this is that they aren't necessities so you have some leverage as to when and even if you buy it at all.

Got a dealer to do 8.6% off MSRP + incentives, which is average in this economic environment. Working on getting 10 ~ 11% off.

I got a quote from the dealer about 1:45 away who has a car close to what I configured online.
His quote was exactly 6% discount then another $1k in rebates.

That doesn't seem like an outstanding deal to me.

I could probably order one from scratch at the dealer 10 minutes away and get that without negotiating and get exactly what I want.

Thoughts? z4 m40i on the lot.

MSRP: $70,245
Selling Price: $63,420
Incentive/ Rebates: $2,500
10k / 36 months
Drive off: $2,700
  • $925 acq fee
  • $702 first payment
  • $721 DMV fee (seems high?)
  • $272 taxed incentives
  • $80 doc fee
MF: 0.00142
7 MSDs: 0.00107 (total of $5,600)
Combined total due at signing is $8,300
Payment Pre Tax: $651.69
After Tax: $702.20

I was thinking MSD should be ($750*7) = $5,250

I'd say 13% post-incentives is pretty good. Are you holding out to see if April incentives will be better?

MSD should be $5250.

Submitted credit app yesterday.
Will I be able to lock March rates if I get the car in April? Or is that just for orders?

Most likely will get the car this month.

I don’t know how people wait for a few extra percent once they want this vehicle. I don’t have that kind of restraint. I’m loving every minute I spend in the vehicle. I even took a Corona virus trip in it from NY metro area to the border of Mass to make sure I can sit out the apocalypse in comfort...

Ha! I know what you mean. I have all the restraint in the world when the car is for my wife, not myself.

I justify the hold out for a few extra percent by saying the saving can be used toward a new handbag

I quoted the exact same sticker and got
$66,030
-$1,000 in "rebates"
$65,030

This was for a purchase not a lease.

Does anyone think there will be better incentives in April?

Most dealers are saying it probably won't change much from March. But I'd be curious to get everyone's take on this.

Sorry, no idea.

Social distancing and virus complications could make dealers/companies more desperate to sell, but also more desperate to make money on those sales. Hard to say. These places do want to stay in business after all.

As far as what dealers say, it’s probably not the best source for the info since they would always rather sell now (and at a higher price) instead of a month down the road.

That's the thing with expensive 2-seat convertibles; they are totally discretionary purchases.

I'll sit tight with my current convertible unless I get a good deal.
