Tire Plugger
Because there is no spare tire, I'm considering purchasing a tire plugging kit. I had one that I used once on my BMW motorcycle, which turned out to be a trip saver. I'm not sure how useful it would be on the car as with the motorcycle I was able to take the weight off the tire by putting it on the center stand and with the car there is no way to do that. Any thoughts?

There's a storage area behind a door on the right side of the trunk near the back of the car. Look inside for a mobility kit.

I didn't look that closely but believe you should find a compressor with integrated tire sealant bottle and more in a pouch.

I mispoke/misremembered. Everything is just neatly tucked away behind the door.

I got one as they look like they could be useful. Yes there is an inflator and sealer kit behind the little door but no plugger.
Having said that, given the state of the roads in UK at present, a pothole burst and alloy crack is more likely. |

9000 miles and replaced 4 tires unfortunately. pothole blowout on front. My rear tires were worn. Lots of burnouts. wanna play gotta pay! Needed tow for a flat. What a joke. No runflats ( not that i'm a fan) 2 hours for tow. So i bought a scissor jack and lug wrench. Not all that big. Jack Behind rear seat in box. Hardly know its there. And lug wrench in trunk well secured. Got a spare rim with tire that will fit front or back. 255 35 19. Keep the spare on side of my house and will Uber it to me when i am stuck. Of course this only works when i'm local, but beats waiting for a tow and a dealer visit. That could be a good 3 hr waste of time. And if its after hours even worse.

I could see the wisdom of throwing in a plug kit and maybe even a small 12v compressor - not much space or weight there.
2 cents, Dave |

Dave,
Compressor comes with the car and is behind the little door in the trunk and now I have a tire plugger in the trunk also. We don't use the car on a daily basis. 99.9% of our miles are off the highway and on scenic routes. As noted earlier, a plug saved our motorcycle trip traveling in Canada around Lake Superior. Very easy to use and the plug held for thousands of miles. Steve |

"no officer, I have not been drinking...I'm avoiding the potholes" I too have the compressor and sealer kit and added a plugger a couple of weeks ago. |
