My 66 Mustang restoration

I've had this car since 93 and she's done me well. Now I'm trying to do the same.

The biggest challenge is replacing the entire cowl which had rotted, we then discovered the firewall flange was shot too so I am fabricating one from sheet metal.

Some thick ass carpet going in and new seatbelts, we considered going to 3 point but the options are clunky and she'll be a weekend warrior at best.

I’ve put about $600 in sound dampening in the car including the dynamat style noico resonance damper, foam noise and heat barriers and mass vinyl.

Fun fact: my trunk carpet is the same material used in x3/x4 wheel arches. My former employer made them and we had a roll of pp carpet that had no center core and couldn’t be loaded in the press so I was able to take some for the project.

C code. Pretty much bone stock except electronic ignition, dual exhaust.

I might put a sniper Efi on. Got to get everything else done first.

The cowl area was always prone to extensive rust. The bane of my existence. GL with your build.

Yeah, ours was bad in the corners, which rotted into the passenger compartment and backwards into the engine bay. I bought some cowl delete plates from mustangs to fear and will close and blend the center 4, leaving only the far left and right open. It won’t change the shit design but will lower the chance of debris collecting inside and clogging the drains. This new cowl is weld thru primered too so it’s not unprotected like the factory.

Hypershift pearl is in and when we got home from blue Ridge the dash was on the porch, it fit up nice!

My welder came too so I will try to get the repairs done so I can prime and paint.

Headlights with halos arrived today.

Found out I won’t be getting my carbon fiber louvers I was going to cut into the fenders above the wheel wells. I might try to source some different ones, I think it would be unique and different.

What's going on with that subwoofer install? No offense, but it looks like wood working is not your forte.

Love the vintage Phoenix Gold.

What’s your bitch? I was actually a MECP installer back in the day. It’s been a while.

The mustang is not a symmetrical vehicle and the trunk has a horrible hump in the middle too which leaves things even more not straight. It’s a real shitshow trying to equalize things.

Again, not sure your complaint so elaborate and I’ll either explain or concede my lousy fab skills.

Sensitive much? If that little comment got you this upset, then you're about to blow your lid. The vent is proportioned wrong, too narrow for it's height. Do you own a router? That would've done wonders on that "round over". The "beauty" panel doesn't fit. You obviously jig sawed everything, not a straight cut in sight. The carpet is all lumpy. Have no idea what you tried to do with where the beauty panel meets the box vent, is that some kind of L channel screwed into it? Which then leads to the question of why you even tried to round it over on the box, in the first place?

Anyway, my apologies for upsetting you. Sometimes it's Ok to have a little humility. Your metal fab skills blow me away, I wouldn't even know where to start with that cowl repair.
