Scratched cerium grey wheel

Just wondering if anyone has experience of repairing cerium grey wheels? I've got a small but noticeable scratch in one of mine (on the painted surface) and my dealer is saying it's unrepairable without repainting and diamond cutting the whole wheel, which seems a bit over the top.

Apparently it can't be polished out because the lacquer is matt. Seems a bit stupid but tbh not much surprises me when it comes to alloys.

First Bummer on the wheel scratch :-(. When I had my 4-Series Gran Coupe, I had a few wheel scratches. There are wheel repair shops that can do a great job resurfacing the wheel. Google search your wheel repair for your area.

Thanks. There's a couple of places near me but I'd prefer a dealer repair really. Otherwise, any problem (eg hub corrosion) and they say "oh, it looks like you've had the wheel refurbed".

No they didn't say anything when I turned the lease in.

Dealer would most probably just contract it out and up charge you.

I'm not thinking so much of when I hand the car back, but when I get the inevitable white worm and I want new wheels under warranty. They'll take any excuse to avoid replacement.

These scratches can be really frustrating. I feel bad for you.
Thanks. The dealer actually managed to repaint just the scratched area without having to recut so it turned out ok on this occasion.

Hi. I'll have to email the bodyshop. I'll let you know what they say.

Just realised they haven't replied to my email. I'll give them a call tomorrow and report back.

Thanks. It looks fine. No point posting pics at the moment as the wheels are a bit dirty, but I'll put some up if I get round to washing it this weekend.
