Couldn’t resist these, genuine BMW so not exactly cheap but I think they suit the Sapphire black well on the M40i.

How easy was it to get off the old mirror caps? Any tips/instructions?

It was a pain to remove the old caps. There’s quite a lot of YouTube instructions on how to do it. My advice is to use a thin plastic trim tool and to take your time and don’t force it.
