1. To see if it works

2. To see if my wife complains.

If it sounds good & the wife is not happy would go electronic.
One other option is to buy a dummy plug for the valve actuator and just plug that in there and connect the oem plug on the back end. it basically just opens the circuit.

The fuse hack works for the M40i. Nice sound, will not make enemies of the neighbors.

About 500 miles on it with no ill effects reported by the car.

Will try it on the M4C. Not sure what will happen as the car has a exhaust button on the console.

I’m wondering if the fuse hack is still a partial opening of the exhaust flap (vs full opening advertised by flap controller option).

Experimented with this today. Fuse hack works well. Full opening of exhaust flap. I reinserted fuse after test. I seemed to have a low drone when cruising in gear 8. Didn’t really like.

Has anyone tried this?

https://burgertuning.com/products/ob...40468319764654

I’ve had it on my F80 for 5 years, and love it. Has three modes: open, closed, and OEM operation. Tucked inside the under-dash cover panel, out of sight.

Only thing is, it will occupy the OBD port so you can’t run it at the same time with the M analyzer or other OBD devices.
