Hey guys!

About to buy a 22 G29 Z4 and want to make sure it’s not tuned. I know one of the giveaways is the sport gauges showing more HP. The torque and HP on this M40i show 400 for both gauges. Is that as expected?

That’s what mine shows. Thought I don’t know if a tune would impact that display. That’s more of a Bimmercode thing.

Thank you Tony! Your car is stock and shows 400 for both? I let it rip and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I'm coming from the Supra so acceleration is veryyyy similar.

Appreciate it, as an almost new owner. Anything I should watch out for in your opinion? Anything critical settings to change? Etc.

I’ve had mine for about 10 months now (ordered new). No issues whatsoever. As far as settings go, there’s a fair amount you can adjust in iDrive. More of a personal preference as far as looks and layout. I wouldn’t say there’s anything to look out for per say.

Lot of knowledge on this board though, so I’m sure others might have an opinion.

Those aren’t in US units though. Mine are labeled HP and TQ.

it's in Dutch

PK = HP same unit different language

And torque is in nm for us, so it might be different than yours

edit : 800 newton meters = 590.049719 foot pounds

Is yours tuned? That is some crazy torque and definitely not stock lol

That’s interesting that a tune would change those. Wonder how it measures power (the display output).

It's tuned.
600 hp and 780 nm something like that

when you put the car in dyno mode, it updates the graph?
That would me my best guess.

Or maybe something in the tuning software itself that updates the screen.

Good to know. Guess it verifies for the OP that if his still shows 400, it’s not tuned

now i'm curious if the european Z4's show a number that's lower than 400 by default.
i'll look for someone in our group who hasn't tuned it yet

If you use a tuning box, the gauges will not change.
