Rumble when driving above 70kph ?

Noticed yesterday - roof up (sorry - was raining hard) and no music on that there seems to be a noise coming from what I think is the front drivers side wheel (LHD car).

Noise is feint but constant and at an even rhythm as if driving over the broken centreline of the highway. No vibration through the wheel and tyres look good.

Is this "normal" road noise or something to get checked with the dealer ?

Car is a 2019 3.0

Thanks in advance

What was the temperature outside? These tires seem to get fairly noisy and noticeably harder in cool weather. I don't like driving it below 8c with the stock tires.

If the problem persists there might be an issue with the wheel bearing.. I am not sure but there is a high possibility if the sound is coming from the wheel all the time on different types of roads..

Thanks for the responses.

My thought was wheel bearing also yes.

Temps have been various - from 20+ degrees (C) to 8 degrees.

Think I'll get it checked out

Cheers !

Garage List
Bearing noises usually increase when hard turning in curves.
Did you try it?

Noise does not increase when turning.

You hear the pitch of the noise get higher as the speed increases but don't feel any vibration through the steering wheel.

I thought maybe tyre related but then surely you would feel something through the wheel ?

Hi all - went to the dealer today. 170km there 170km back.

Codes read, brake discs checked for warping or distortion, bearings checked and rechecked. No issues found.
Front drivers tyre looks to have a slight amount of abnormal wear but still with 4-5mm tread. Garage increased the pressures (2,6 bar) and gave me a complementary M-Sport coffee thermos (filled with hot coffee) for the journey home !

Coffee was great but little improvement to the rumble.

I'll go and find a good tyre place and have them balance the wheels and check the alignment on the car to see if that helps - maybe think about replacing the front two tyres.

Disappointing but not the end of the world.
