Powder coating diamond cut alloys - G29 20i

Hi,

Looking to powder coat the diamond cut alloys on my BMW Z4 SDrive20i, has anyone done this before or would you advise against it?

Be good to know your thoughts.

Thanks

Depends on you really. A friend had a Golf that had diamond cut wheels that had really bad alloy worm attack. He got them powder coated a nice silver and they looked great.
Why would you coat really good wheels unless you want to colour change. A company near me posted some pictures where they did the inner part of the wheel in black powder then remachined the diamond cut surface. They looked good. This picture is from Total Wheel Solutions - Middlesbrough UK

HaHa! It’s where corrosion gets under the lacquer on the wheels usually where salt is used on the roads. Little worm like tracks. A colleague had a 2 year old Jag with such.
VW Golfs got it a lot>
