My car reprogramed itself

This happened a few weeks ago. All my settings reverted back to when I bought the car. My home address, my radio settings, seat position, etc. I assume that mama BMW tried to update the software or something?

You get notifications when there's pending software updates. I've had a few over the years and have never had this issue. Wonder if it's something else, maybe battery related?

The battery is strong and I've never taken the cables off the terminals.

Did you ever see the movie Christine? Well, maybe you should! Have you had any dents that disappeared?

your settings are stored in the key, might be that you used a different key?

Make sure you're logged in and using the same key. Software updates shouldn't do that

RavenGX and Bimmerfun82 are correct, make sure you are always using the same key.

That's a possibility. I keep both keys in pretty much the same place. But the one I use daily is closest.

Something else new that I learned.
Having tested, both my keys seem to have identical programming

i remeber this because when i bought the salesman opened the car with one key, then i put in all my settings and the day after everything was gone because i used the other key. And then on the phone they didn't think of that and told me to reset everything on both keys and delete all my accounts.

Hours of my life i'll never get back :P
