Z4 sales UP 20% in 2023 vs 2022

How about that? While not a big seller for BMW it’s nice seeing the Z4 increasing its market share year over year.

I expect 2024 will be solid with the addition of the manual and less competition in the roadster segment.

That's awesome. Still a drop in the bucket compared to others. Even the XM is higher sales than the Z4. That's nuts.

IMHO, they never expected huge sales for the Z4.

It’s all about the quality of the purchasers, not the quantity 😜

Supra sales really dropped in 2023. Once the manual is available for the Z4, don’t be shocked if the Z4 outsells the Supra.

It might possibly eat into the M2 MT sales. 😉

How is the 4 series the 3rd highest selling model behind only the X5 and X3 in 2023? I guess the grill is not that big of a deal....

Also, where do the M2/3/4/5/etc fall? I would assume in the numbers for the respective series...

I see SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many 4-series around here. Though surprisingly enough I see more M3, M4 and M8s than I see their non true M counterparts. Alot of 430i cabriolets and i4s here.

I think I’m seeing more new 4-series cars than 3 or 2 series as well. But more SAVs of all types (X3, X5, X7 in declining order by volume) than sedans, coupes or roadsters.

The 4-series grill never bothered me. I think it’s more offensive if you’re a BMW traditionalist. (Maybe I do prefer the F8x M cars to the G8x based on looks but not enough that I wouldn’t get a G8x) I confess to only having a little brand loyalty insofar as if I own a make and I like it, I’ll at least look at the brands offerings when looking to buy again before looking at another brand. But that’s about as far as it goes.

Must be a year for convertibles. Even the Mini Cooper vert saw a huge increase ~70%. YoY

Not so sure you can say that until one understands the reason for the drop in Supra sales.

IMHO the M2’s MT was a factor in the drop of the Supra’s sales.

It's only going to take Top Gear, Throttle House, or one of those reviewers saying the revised Z4 with manual and updated suspension is a fantastic drivers car for them to double the sales volume.

IMO.

Believe it or not, BMW advertises the Z4 quite a bit on instagram.

That seems like an odd place to advertise. The average age of Z4 owners is 50+. How many 50+ people use instagram regularly. I'm 55 and have no instagram account and barely know what IG is.

Seems like something keyed toward an older crowd would make more sense.
