My Z4 arrived at Port Hueneme on Wednesday (W39 build). Looking forward to status moving back to "In Transit" so that I know it's on its way to Colorado Springs.

Am I looking at ~2 weeks more or is it too tough to predict?

Mine spent Saturday to Wednesday at the port so maybe yours will leave Monday?

Nice spec, looks similar to mine. Last two Z4 i ordered it was 3 days at the port before going back to In Transit. No idea how long the truck will take to get to Colorado though.

Thanks!

Reading this forum I first thought that my PB/CVL Z4 wouldn't be unique and then remembered that I've seen exactly zero Z4s in Colorado!

Yup and that likely won't change lol! I rarely see a G29 around here.

Well, my status hasn't changed since we arrived at port last week. Genius and dealer have no more than My Garage. In port. They do see that a carrier is assigned, but that has been the case for a week.

Mine sat at the port for 3 weeks, just FYI.

My status (same vessel) has now been changed to “In transit.”

Mine is at the dealer today and I'm picking it up at 2pm. I will try to behave and observe break-in protocol as I drive home on my favorite mountain passes. In relaxed cruising mode of course (really). lol

I got it Monday night and have been slammed at work, so no time for a proper oceanside shoot, but I did grab a quick shot at work.

Part of my delay is that I have not yet washed her and have to do a bit of reading here first, so she's getting a bit dusty.

Although I'll search around some threads and see if it's been properly debated, but I really just plan to keep the finish as BMW shipped. I had ceramic and a bit of PPF on my outgoing Alfa Romeo Giulia (not the Quadrifoglio) and I liked the ceramic generally (tho pricey), but kinda hated the PPF.

I garage at home and work, live in northern CA so pretty tame enviro. I plan to drive this car pretty hard on mountain passes, etc.

I do wash and tend to my cars fairly assiduously, I touch up rock hits, etc. but this is a sports car and I'm gonna be OK with it having a bit of... sprezzatura (sorry, still coming of my VERY positive Italian car experience, lol).

Soooo, that's a long way of saying I've been putting off a wash or detail, but it's coming. I had to work through my strategy. Anyway, here is your fellow Cassiopeia Leader shipmate now that she's out in the world of Silicon Valley...

Honestly, PPF is determinant on where you live. I live in HEAVY construction areas. San Antonio is always in a constant state of construction and it's EVERYWHERE. No way my hood would survive without it.

Really good to see that you got your ride, and I can only hope that you enjoy it as much as you did with your Italian counterparts.

I agree, where I live there is construction everywhere, especially a little north of me on I-95!

PPF just saved my front bumper when I got a bit too close to the side of the garage door and transferred some paint from the weather stripping. It did not penetrate the film, and the paint is easy to rub off.

(I have to get really close to the side to avoid playing doorsies with the wife's Tesla, and apparently haven't mastered the approach with the Z4).

I've got a similar problem with getting the Z4 in with the X5. One thing I've found that helps is establishing targets in the back of the garage to aim for. The HUD really helps by providing a consistent aim point.

I've tried that, but I need two points for a proper line, and I find the lines of the hood difficult to aim with. I will have to try taking off my sunglasses and using the HUD.

I’ve gotten closer then I thought when pulling into the garage as well. We sit towards the rear of the car and it makes it tough to judge the front sometimes.

I have a friend who has a very tight squeeze into his garage. He has a plank of wood on the floor on the wall side and he can feel it every time his wheel touches the wood. Then he knows he is as close as he can get to the wall, and that he has room on the other side of the car.

The right width on the plank is the important part I guess.
