The right width on the plank is the important part I guess.
I back in the Z4 so the driver door is facing the wall on both vehicles. I have a wheel bump screwed into the floor to use as a guide looking through my rearview mirror.

Amazon sells parking stops that are adhesive backed. Been useful to me for my cars since my garage is packed with tools, generator, etc. so everything must be in its place (including the cars).

Edit - like StanDiego shows in the post I missed.

I tried it--the HUD does help. I just need a few tries to remember what part of the HUD lines up with my target mark.

Interesting idea. My issue is that the tire is not yet in the garage at the point I am most likely to touch the side of the garage door. And I have a big lip to climb over, so I feel resistance every time. But I'm wondering if the Wife would scream if I glued a piece of wood to the driveway just outside the door :-)

I wish I could do that, but there would not be enough room to open the driver's door. If I park closer to the middle, then my wife wouldn't be able to open her driver door.

But I've found a trick for forward/aft positioning--I pause and shift to reverse and back to drive to activate the reverse camera. If I can just see the mark that the garage door leaves on the concrete in the camera display, I am in just far enough.

Hmm, I think I see what you mean. Maybe something a bit more decorative outside the door, some kind of ceramic tile with a matching one on the other side?

Picked up this PB/CVL on Nov. 29 and finally got around to a cleaning. Next step is PPF and then I'll prep and ceramic coat it. Knee surgery in two days so I'll need some recovery time and warmer temps here in Colorado before I can dial it in the way I want it.

What a solid car. Best I've owned.

Congrats on the new car. Hope that knee surgery doesn’t stop you from driving it for too long 😬

Thank you. I at least wanted to have the car clean so that I could peak at it in garage during recovery!
