Mushrooms are by nature, FUNGUS. Fungus requires "moisture and darkness" to survive. If it's been cool climate, that is probably the issue. Once it heat s up, the shrooms should burn off.

What does the brick do?

When teh cactus grow a big leaf out to far into the mowing lanes, I hack it off and then just stand it up where I want the new one to grow. Couple weeks and there are roots in the ground.

Indoors, my wife regularly cuts a shoot and sticks in a jar of water. I sneak in a little miracle grow and soon the shoot has sprouted roots and we put in a new pot.

Someday I'll get all the other stuff done, decks, siding, doors, windows, driveway.. and then I can relax focusing on the yard.

Anyone ever trim over grown Japanese Maples? I have a couple beauties in my front yard but they are over grown and fighting for light with a big tree.

The brick will eventually break down and turn into soil for calcium intake

Just kidding lol! It's to keep the branch from lifting and moving

...yes u need to prune them every spring and fall to keep their beauty and unique looks. Just prune away, u cant really hurt them, they grow back even if u think u took too much off

I've seen quite a few YouTube videos on pruning Japanese Maples to make it look less dense/thick which really looks nice as I've seen them done that way in my neighborhood. I would wait tho when the tree goes dormant or early Spring

We all have garden OCD. So for the past 4 years or so been working on the front and back yard. Finally got the front where it needs to be.
Two weeks ago I built me two lattices; I have these plants that I will train to grow on the lattices.
The rain did a blessing to most of my plants, especially the hydragenas.
I have St Augustine lawn and I love it. Something I learned from my landscaper that Bermuda is very invasive. It can grow about 10 feet deep.

Out in the front I had my landscaper plant two red bud tree and a king palm. Last year’s heat wave killed the king palm. Two week ago I just had it. I went down to my local nursery and picked me up another red bud. They are beautiful trees that resembles a cherry tree when it blossoms: beautiful flowers that appears throughout the tree.

My dad has this beautiful plumeria; he was able to successfully plant a piece from it and it’s growing into a healthy tree.

The best feature in the front yard is the water fountain. Purchased a pot that Dave, my landscaper, converted into a fountain. Looks ideal where we positioned it due to the fact that it is visible from the street and the Porch.

Like I said, this is in the making for 5 years. Cleaned up so much stuff: a big olive tree, a pine tree, hedges, etc.

Love the Hydrangeas! Those look like the "Let's Dance" variety since I see both pink and blue in the same shrub

Yep. These are from Monrovia nursery. They have quality plants. My sister works there and got these on a sale.

Yep. I'm all about low maintenance and not paying for a guy to come mow my yard and spread the weeds from his last job around.

This is Moses, as we've named him. This is before he was installed in the mulch patch behind him.

Definitely recommend the Husqvarna over other brands. I had a Worx Landroid for 2 years before it was stolen.

The Husqvarna's big advantages are that it's larger, dealer installed (HUGE advantage vs DIY), GPS tracked (anti-theft), its app actually works, it cuts better, and its overall just a more robust unit. This is the second largest one Husqvarna makes - adequate for my yard which is about 3/4 acre of actual grass.

Mows 7 days/wk from 9am-7pm. It mostly goes in random directions but the computers make sure it gets everything, and it splits the yard into sections so that it makes sure to get each area regularly. Doesnt get the last 10-12" before the curb, so i mow around the edge with my regular mower every other week - as hot as it gets down here, this is a huge win in my book.

The razor blade cut is nice. I replace them about once a month.

Also, I replaced my Rainbird with a Rachio sprinkler controller. Paid for itself in the first summer just on rain-skips alone. It talks to weather stations through wifi and can skip not only if it has rained, but if its about to.

I do wish there was a robotic edger and fertilizer spreader.

I actually enjoy mowing, even though I sneeze through most of it now with allergies.

When it's 100+ in Texas, being indoors while robots do you work for you is a good thing.

I'd rather deal with hot summers than that white crap that floats down in the winter

Yeah - I'm in Austin but from New Zealand, and I hate summer. Right now we're getting borderline on me going outside for the rest of the season. In fact - I'm going home to NZ for 2 weeks to enjoy the winter

Ugh! Finally cut down all 300 of my tulips down to the ground now that they all turned yellow. I've heard they require the most maintenance and I didn't know that. But, that's what my boys are for was able to get a mow in before the rain came

It's funny because ever since I bought my lawn tractor the boys have been wanting to use it. but ever since they can't cut straight and there's literally patches of grass not cut I decided not to let them cut it anymore
