Thoughts on these cross braces?

The stock ones are ugly as hell. Thinking of getting red to match brake caliper covers.

They look great to me. Yeah, not sure why they used a part that looks like it's from a backyard children's swing set.

Got mine about the same time as i got the car happy with them. Look better and are way more substantial than the factory swing-set parts.

I think they look great! I also ordered my Z4 in black, but have red calipers and was thinking of ordering the braces in red, what do you think?

I am partial to keeping the engine area on the Z4 black. That said think red would also look good or blue with blue calipers.

Black, Red & Blue are typical engine compartment colors. This one will go with more Blue & Red as I replace the hoses with braded ones that have red & blue couplings.

Have these things been engineered for the car???

Is no one concerned that the load that these new bars put on the car during handling may be different from the OEM bars? Theres no way these Burger guys did any crash testing with these things or spent money to design them to take the same load as the OEM bars. This seems like an aesthetic thing that has not been technically tested for our cars. While Id love to buy a blue set for my Z4 the engineering part concerns me. Thoughts?

I heard they're solid. The OEM parts if anything look cheaper and weaker.

No. There is no comparison in the strength of the replacement bars. They are solid bar stock & would take a lot of force to bend them.

If your kids have an inexpensive metal swing set you can get an idea of the factory bars which are hollow tubes with the ends put in a press to flatten them.

For the first couple of years the Toyota did not have any. Toyota says "For 2021, the Supra gets minor upgrades to the chassis. The Supra 3.0 gets aluminum under-hood braces that increase roll resistance and enhance stability in cornering."

They did not have the tubes but they did have the bolt holes (white circles) as its all BMW. Interesting thing, guys who tried to add the BMW tubes found the front two holes threaded but the rear two were not.

So for your engineering comparison you have.

A. No support parts

B. Hollow tubes with pressed ends Replacement Cost $15.00EA.

C. Solid CNC machined bar stock

Maybe just some black paint will make them look more tech and less cheap.

Those bars do not have anything to do with protection from crash. They connect the shock absorbers to the front portion of the frame. They are very important in absorbing the stress when you speed and hit a bump in the road. If you replace them with not-bmw approved parts, your car may behave differently at high speed and became unstable. They are designed in this way for a reason. I would not replace them if I were you.

I'd make sure replacement doesn't void the warranty too.

So its better to have a suspension support part flex at speed with an impact instead of maintaining its normal relationship to the parts its attached to?

Have to wonder why Toyota but support bars in. Was the front end too loose?

Typically when a car gets more performance the suspension is beefed up not softened up.

The suspension in this 2250lbs car will support a 4500lbs street car

What Bear said; the Supra came without the bars therefore they aren't required, just a handling upgrade. I would have zero concern replacing the factory bars with anything.....or nothing.

Just finished painting mine semi-flat from Krylon rust tough enamel RTA9203 and it looks soooo much better they just disappeared visually. 600 grit sand paper so primer would adhere. Dupli-Color primer sealer dap1699 very light coat and then top coat with Krylon.
