sorry to interrupt you in the "I Love/I Hate" the new Z4 thread, but I just could not resist to point out a reply made on page 4 by Pyrat. Of course his reply doesn't refer to the picture posted just before, but anyway too funny.

@ Pyrat: which one of the two, is the trans? how have you been able to see his/her knob ?????

Cheers and btw the new Z4 pictures look very nice.

Not sure if you have followed all the leaks around the z4 but there is an upgraded version of the B58 coming with 380hp+ for use in 40i M performance applications (z4 m40i, M340, M40i x3/x4)

I cannot confirm that the details you notice are a distinguishing factor, but the Z4 is indeed known to be getting the B58TU engine (in both M1 and O1 spec, depending on region), yes.

Forum member "ynguldyn" revealed this information some time ago in his future BMW thread here at BimmerPost, and he has even been so kind as to update the B58 Wikipedia page to include the two new versions of the engine.

Oh yes thats true. I'm just wondering because the Euro Mustang has larger mirrors than the US model.

I'm more sad this thing will carry on the Supra badge. The Supra, especially the later years, was a monster. It's still a legend. To now be relegated to a slightly better Miata is sad. Reminds me of when Chevy brought back the Impala name for a rental car.

Is it true that the Supra will have the same interior? If so I’m buying my first Toyota! I like coupes more and the Supra to me is stunning.

I really like it, such a shame they wont make a proper M. I can only imagine how good this would look with wider fenders like the M2 and a proper screaming engine.

These are the latest spy shots. It's also rumored to be anywhere from $5k-$10k less than the Z4.

No.

No non-M BMWs come with a mechanical LSD. There are a few exceptions, like the iS models in the E30 line-up. The E30 318is and the 325is comes with mechanical LSD.

Outside of that, you CAN get limited slips as options for the E36 3 series. AS AN OPTION. The 325is and the 328is in the E36 guise can be bought with an optional LSD.

I don't know about the earlier 5 series, but the 540i can also be optioned with a mechanical LSD, but after that...No BMWs, outside of the ///Ms, come with or can be optioned with LSDs. Not just the E90s and beyond.

Honestly where did you get that information?

p.s.: No Ms outside of the ones produced for racing programs come with dry sumps. Some has a scavenger pump in the oil pan that act as a hybrid, semi-dry set-up. But none has EVER had a separate tank that a true dry-sump design requires.

But no seriously, where are the cupholders, I know that the germans don't know how to design a simple circular space that holds cups, but it looks like the slot that would have it contains a wireless charger. So is this a Miata situation with a plastic attachment?
This is exactly what my wife said. She hates the fact that the cupholders in her '06 really don't exist. The ones built in were cheap and didn't work even before they broke many years ago.

European regulations on exterior mirrors require them to be much larger than US/NA mirrors. We get smaller mirrors but reflectors everywhere instead.

Didn't 2.8 and 3.0 Z3's have standard LSD's, as well as 3.0 Z4's? ZCP E46's and other trims as well. I thought the S85 had a true dry sump, but don't recall specifics.

The E90 was the easy target for a relatively high torque, one wheel drive slop fest. EDiff was a mess.

Actually, I think they were an ingenious design that works incredibly well. The ratcheting tab that allows one to securely hold cups / drink bottles of varying size is impressive; and the holder folds away neatly into the dash. But I agree that the material was not nearly robust enough, resulting in these breaking far too easily, probably as one of the car's occupants struck the opened holder with their leg while getting in or out of the car.

I like the rear a lot.
The whole car looks lower than all the M sedans.

Are they going to have a hard top?

Don’t know about Z3’s but none of the Z4’s had LSD’s, nor did E46 ZCP 330’s. You had to get the Z4 M or M3 to get one.
