Exactly, Porsche looks awfull and the sound is terrible.
Clearly your opinions and people actually buying these cars don't intersect. Porsche's been selling essentially the same thing for twenty years and still clobbers all of the competition. Of course the 911 has over fifty years of similar dominance.

And why would they do that? BMW has two cars in their history with mid engines. One was built by Lamborghini and the other has a Mini engine and a block of batteries.

The two previous M Roadsters were actually more entertaining than the somewhat anodyne Boxster. Both have their place, but I'd strongly prefer BMW return to the fun, slightly murderous nature of the previous MR's and not try to make a bad Boxster copy.

Credit to BMW they've taken aim at the Boxster and sounds like they are much closer to the mark this time. They deserve this to sell well. Fingers crossed for an M model (and in relation to the above post, a 2nd gen i8 too).

I know this is a pathetic thing to repeat, but I've heard on several occasions in the past women say "wow a Porsche!" ..."oh but it's only a Boxster". I've never heard anyone say that about the Z4.

For what it's worth I saw one of these today (camoflaged, of course) driving in Santa Monica, California.

Can't wait to see the new Z4! Interested in what figures we'd see out of a potential Z4M!
