I’ve always been of the mindset personalized plates are just that, personal. If YOU like it, that’s what matters. With that said, for us, we generally go for something that’s not make/model specific, (allowing it to transfer easier amongst vehicles, not stating the obvious, etc). But, that’s just us.
IE; spouse has one which relates to his heritage & his pride in such. New one for our new Z4 is semi-related, but even more generic, and has to do with a native animal from his island which I fell in love with, (and hope to hear at night upon retirement should we retire there). To me, I try to find a deeper meaning & purpose in choosing a plate. Caveat; my old SRT was literslly ‘SRT-8’, so been there, done that, haha. I guess I’ve altered my purpose on plates as the years have passed. /shrug |

To me, I try to find a deeper meaning & purpose in choosing a plate. For my wife’s birthday last year I bought her a plate that says IMWAYL8 cause she is never on time! She loves it and it generates a ton of conversation. The OP’s will at least get people wondering about G29. |

I did something similar for our MINI Roadster...seems MINI people tend to name their vehicles..since our Roadster is Chili Red, its name is SEB (short for Sebastian as in Vettel) with the R59 model designation following that...so I get your Z4 G29 idea.

Go for it.
I’d love to get a vanity plate, but I can’t stand the thought of giving even a few more dollars to the irresponsible ones. |

Will have to think about doing custom plates for the BMW's. Been driving legally since 1959. Generally don't like the cutesy or break the code plates. Would like one if I went that way with a strong connection to the cars.
My one and only custom plate answers a question of "what's in it?" I get a lot because of the 427 trim over the side shark grills.

Get creative, be patient, wait for it to come to you. FWIW, this is my plate (the IS on the side denotes Disabled Veteran series plate). It speaks to me about what this car is about. Also, I tend to name my cars. My Z4's name is Darth Zeder. What does your Z4 mean to you? Do you have a name for it? |

My favorite vanity plate was on the back of 2002tii a friend of my dad owned. A Vermont plate that said, simply, "NO" |

^^ That's great! Especially if you are a Naval Aviator.
My vanity plate is "KRMDGN". I've had it in 3 different states over the last 12 years. Unfortunately I couldn't transfer it over to my Z4 when I bought it so my spousal unit has it on our X3. She gets questions . . . |
