But you still aren't allowed to pump it yourself?

Didn't this same tax code also reduce your overall sales tax from 7% to 6%?

From what I read, it goes down to 6.5%, phased in Jan 1. 2017, and down to 6.0% in another year. What a bargain!

imho it smacks down the little people, because a 2017 991.2 Carrera 4S gets better mileage than a 2002 Ford Escort. I'm just glad I'm rich. (sarcastic)

I mean, obviously the countries that produce it will have it cheaper. No surprised there. Ever had to pay for gas in the UK or Europe?

Hey stop that. Don't ruin a perfectly valid argument just because it is based on a technicality. TECHNICALLY - he was wrong. US does NOT have the lowest global gas prices. Please, check your common sense at the door.

When you compare the prices of gas with other countries that are equally as developed as the US is, I think my comment still stands true. Now if you want to compare it to a country that is consists of 95% desert, ok you win, gas is cheaper there. Feel free to relocate so you can save some money on gas. I won't stop you.

Yes, many times.

Funny that I live in the country that is the largest supplier of oil to the USA, but our gas prices are nearly double.

http://polttoaine.net/

When I moved out from finland in January 2014, it was nearing 1.7 euros (an euro was abt 1.3 usd). A litre. Octanes and all but man pumping in the usa or even in Canada was fun.

Now it's only around 1.5e per litre here. Jei!!!

It doesn't matter where you live or how much your gas is.

What matters is where you live and your gas price just went up 23 cents.

Problem i have with the raise is the roads won't be any better before or after this raise.

I think the last time I filled up with premium it was around $1.35/L, or $5.10 CAD/US gallon, which works out to $3.92 USD/US Gal.

It is actually a little cheap right now, not long ago it was closer to $1.50/L.

Yup, but a McDonalds employee can eat a lunch in a mcdonalds and she'll only lose an hour pay. In the top of the list she'd lose more and in the bottom (saudi Arabia) she probably has leftovers and then walk home.

Gas prices is a solid indicator but the state of human rights is a better one. I complain a lot about having to pay a lot of taxes and for the idiotic taxing on fuel in my country but to be honest I'd pay more if it ensured that my kids also felt as free as I've always been.
