Nitpicking (your favorite) movies

Tombstone is the best Western film I've seen. Good story, star-studded cast w great performances all around, tried to be historically-accurate where possible...heck, all the men grew real moustaches/beards for the roles, settings, costumes, etc. However, one gripe is how did Johnny Ringo go from being all arrogant and outright challenging Doc Holliday to trying to worm out of a gunfight later on? They didn't show why his mentality changed from all bravado to fear.

Top Gun

Just for starters:

1. Maverick closed his canopy by pushing on the plexiglass with his finger tips.
2. ACM (Aerial Combat Maneuvers) training was shown as only on the horizontal dimension. ACM is actually 3D.
3. Iceman said Maverick was in a spin and heading out to sea. Spins are straight down.
4. The F-14 vs Mig canopy-to-canopy scene was impossible as shown. The vertical stabilizers of both aircraft would've collided (the tail of both aircraft were not in the frame) not to mention that the other pilot would not have cooperated with such a stunt.

Every single horse movie ever made.

Love them but then I start grilling the equitation of the actors, etc. If I see one more actor with his heels up Learn your finger placement on the reins!!

For the sake of fuck, just hire an equestrian to star in the role. Hildalgo had about 15 errors. Cringe.

Probably Kate Bosworth in The Horse Whisperer. She was an equestrian before she was an actress to my knowledge.

Hunt for Red October

1. Any soldier planning to defect would not tell their boss beforehand, during or after the defection.
2. The senior officers onboard the Red October likely wouldn't allow the Captain to retain both missile launch keys.
3. The missile bay in Red October was probably way larger than realistic. Submarines don't waste a cubic inch, let alone cubic feet.

The Rock....

Stab the needle into your heart. LOL. Umm no. The treatment for exposure to nerve agent is two different medications: atropine and 2 Pam Chloride. Both in a pouch kit in auto injectors to be stabbed into your thigh.

I also liked The Rock, mainly because back in my server/bartender days I worked with Greg Sporleder, who was in the film. He was a good guy and it was great to see someone you know have success. The same could be said for Stephenie Bentley, a talented singer and songwriter in Nashville.

My favorite movie currently is probably Kingdom of Heaven which works on a number of levels for me. I had a celebrity crush on Eva Green because of that film and then her work in Casino Royal with Daniel Craig was very good also.

Johnny Ringo saw how clean and rust free Doc Holiday's pizza pan was. He knew he had been outclassed and death was upon his door. He was, in fact, No Daisy at all."

Off topic, but I never understood why cowboys had to ride off into the sunset. No need in being so damn dramatic about your departure. You already beat the bad guy, got the money and the girl. Stop being so theatrical and stay your ass in a hotel for a night. Beats the shit out of camping just outside of town, because the sun set on your ass.

This also raises awareness to Pirate movies. I feel like they spent so much time looking for treasure, that they failed to realize the real treasure were the bonds they created with one another in friendship.

What? You mean to tell me the Hulkster wasn’t really fighting for his life or his body wasn’t naturally made or the blood was fake? Oh, the humanity!

I can only imagine your thoughts on The Matrix and Angelina Jolie’s ability to make bullets travel in an arc in Wanted, she has many talents doesn’t she?
