FML. Plz kill me 😭😭

So anyway I landed at the airport for my CP stuff (no not that CP)

I had parked near a curb and forgot. Got in top down and immediately pulled right and hit the pedal when the curb was on the right.

I heard a bang and my heart sank. I realized the right side of my car and my wheels resting on top of the curb. I freaked out.

Had to reverse back and heard a scratching noise. I knew the right side rocker panel I believe it's called and the dog leg were definitely off at this point while reversing. Idk if rocker panel and dog leg are the right words but just imagine which parts you would hit in your z4 if parked next to a curb and you drove inwards towards the curb with the rear body parts of your car and wheel being on top of it.

Anyway I freaked out and my heart sank. I was about to have a bad day and probably cry.

Got out and checked again after reversing. And I breathed a sigh of relief. The visible parts like the side exterior, wheels, had not one scratch..nothing was coming off or damaged.

I think all the scratches were on the underside. I was so relieved 😭😭

This is what saved my car and the underpanel even the frame under the car didn't get a scratch. Such a great design 😭🔫

That black plastic sticking down is the jack pad. They're pretty cheap and they just snap in. Easy to replace.

It is. I can't believe a piece of cheap plastic saved me from extensive damage, and it wasn't even meant to prevent curb damage.

😭🔫

Lucky :-)

I scrape those almost daily when exiting my parking, they are probably halfway gone by now, they save my sideskirts from taking damage

Things are also easily replaced. Did all four on my 135i in about ten minutes (5 for the first).

This subject line and conclusion really threw me for a loop, an emotional rollercoaster of a short story. You should be a writer.
