It just popped up for me yesterday. My wife has an X3 (also on ID7), and she got it about two weeks ago.

Have not driven the car since but will keep an eye on if the fan now runs longer or if this was a one off situation.
I noticed the same with the fan! I’d never really heard it before and it was running as if the engine was really hot.

Mine was the same after about 45 minutes of driving. OTA download is slow. Since I got the notice through the app on my phone, once I reconnected to home wifi, it downloaded to my phone in a few minutes. I then went out to the car and made sure the phone was connected to the car by BT and wifi. Then it told me I had to drive it. Starting the car and letting it idle in the driveway apparently counts as 'driving'.

It took 7 or 8 minutes to complete the download to the car. Once I turned the car off, I got the ready to update message. Set the parking brake, selected the 'update now', and the countdown started. Once it started, I got out and locked it and went inside. About 10 minutes later I got a notification from the app that the update was complete.

I drive the next morning regular commute. All good, but it did reset some programming. The annoying popups returned and I needed to reactivate the remote start function.

Finally completed update. I noticed I didn't have to recode what I did in Bimmercode. After updating, though, after turning on the engine and shutting it off my engine fan ran like crazy until I restarted the car.
Well, looks like I did lose some of the Bimmercode. But not everything. Bummer.

That seems to make at least 3 of us that had fan run after the update.

Didn't have the fan run issue with mine. But I did notice that in addition to wiping out my codings, it reset my Sport Individual settings to all Sport.

Yes, that stuff seems to get reset with every update.

It also resets the “data since” in the instrument cluster to default settings so if you had set it to “since last fill-up” like I always have, that will need to be changed again.

In StanDiego’s picture above, select Individual and then select Reset Individual. I believe Start of Trip is only reset automatically so you have to use Individual if you want to control the start of the data set. At least that is how my X5 ID7 works.

I think you hold the “BC” button on the end of the turn signal.

Software started loading in the Z4 today. Nothing yet on the M4. Last upgrade was the other way around.

Have not noticed fan run after shutdown in the past couple days. Looks like it was a one off situation right after software update.

Still sitting on ready to load. With nothing happening will leave it sit.

Have an oil change coming up in a few weeks & they can update it if it doesn't go automatic.
