No worries about hijacking... it's not exactly a new thread. I'm still waiting for my warranty to expire... I may even cheat by a few weeks.

Ultimately the only ones providing bumper-to-bumper warranties are the manufacturers, and tunes/mods do change things meaningfully enough to reasonably void warranties.

If you really want to wake your car up with the JB tune, consider adding a Pedal Commander (around $300). There is a lot of debate about what the Pedal Commander adds to mix, but I have one on my Honda Ridgeline and my M240i and I’m thinking about putting one in my C8. The Pedal Commander doesn’t add any power but allows you to fine tune the throttle response of your car. It takes out what little turbo lag exists in the B58 engine and makes the M240i feel like it gained another 40hp. Strange when there’s no power gain but I’m a believer.

An extended warranty for modified vehicles would be great if it was tailored to mileage better. I drive my Z4 about 2500 miles a year. I'll bet a lot of you don't drive it much more than that. Yet every extended warranty I've seen is 3 years, 36k miles. Give me a rate for 4 years and 10k miles! Last edited by Balr14; 02-28-2024 at 06:38 PM.. |
