G29 top options in Bimmercode

I was considering getting Bimmercode and was looking at the list of options for the G29: https://bimmercode.app/cars/g29/

I didn't see any configuration for the top available, does anyone know if any changes are possible?

Ideally I'd like to have the following changes:
  • Make the top start going down without waiting for the windows to fully drop.
  • Having "one touch" up and down from the switch.
  • Having one touch up/down from the fob.
  • Increasing the fob distance for opening/closing the top.

I do not think this is configurable via Bimmercode. You will probably need something like this.

IIRC, the windows have gone down like the Z4’s on every convertible (BMW & Mercedes) I have ever owned.

On my Boxster they'd only drop like 2 inches while the top was moving, then go back up. If you wanted to also drop the windows you could do it (simultaneously or before/after) with the window switches.

Even if you wanted to drop the windows every time you actuate the top, there's no need to wait for them to be fully down before the top starts moving.

Sadly yes it is. I had one on a previous Miata and a Cooper S and they worked flawlessly but were significantly less expensive then, around $300. I can’t justify the current cost for the limited additional functions it provides but it’s the only option I’m aware of.

Yeah, though the fact that it exists would indicate this is otherwise not possible purely through coding.

I want to get it, but also the top warranty is something I care about so not sure I want to add this before the warranty is over.

It comes with a USB cable to connect to a laptop for configuration and firmware updates. The unit can be disabled with a simple key sequence. Because nothing has been coded, it's virtually invisible to the service department performing scans or updates when the unit is turned off.

If you ever encounter soft top related issues, you can remove it before taking it in for service.
