I got the My Trips feature working yesterday, and it logged a 5.4 mile drive.

But then today I did about 150 miles and my phone shows no activity.

These car/phone integrations really leave a lot to be desired.

Maybe you should contact the Genius person at your dealership. The one at mine has been very helpful when I had IT issues.

It's worth a shot though the one at my dealership was worthless. I'm sure the knowledge level of those geniuses can vary significantly from one dealership to another. For my appointment with the Genius, I'd made a list of around 5 questions in advance but she couldn't answer any of them (not even one about the terms of the tire warranty or how to obtain a copy of it), promised to get back to me and never did, but then this was the same dealership who charged me more than $200 for vehicle registration despite the fact that my disabled veterans plates are free from the state of Illinois.

They promised they'd refund anything not required for registration. Notta! The SA, finance manager, and sales manager all promised to look into and get back to me. The sales manager even admitted I shouldn't have been charged for it but, now well over a year later, none of them ever gotten back to me

Thankfully, there's another dealership even closer to me and they get my business.

You might be able to go to the Genius of any dealership.

Indeed. I tried that regarding topic of the phone overheating on the wireless charger. They plead ignorance. I might try a third dealership in the area to see if I get a different answer.

BMW Assist suggests this. I've followed for other issues. Services like traffic & Spotify may take some time to restore afterward. I've seen similar posts where people were told it might be necessary to do twice. The turning off/locking process triggers a last state call (data transmission).

We recommend performing an Update Services in your vehicle to refresh the connection. This can be done by following the steps below:

-Hold the power button down for 70 seconds exactly. (The volume knob is the iDrive power button)

Once the update completes, we recommend shutting the vehicle off and locking doors allowing 30 minutes before restarting the vehicle to check the connection.

iDrive screen in the vehicle and select Car, Driver Profile and make sure you are logged in. Please navigate back to the main menu and select Car, Settings, General settings, scroll down to Data Privacy and select and make sure box is checked for Agree and activate all.

Please provide screenshot showing iDrive Data Privacy menu.

My Trips should be listed under individual services whether or not it is enabled.

If it is not enabled, please enable. Or, select 'All services incl analysis'. Then, logout and login again to a fresh My BMW App version from App Store.

If My Trips is missing entirely from this iDrive list, the vehicle has not received the relevant data update via provisioning to enable My Trips.

IMHO, it is a waste of time complaining to your dealer as the overheating from their wireless charger issue is something that BMW has been ignoring and they are in total denial on.

Tried this app feature with the trip MPG. The first trip wasn’t accurate. App says 26.2 mpg when I got 21. The second trip said 31 and that was pretty close because that lifted my average to 23.

Ah BimmerFun82, I've followed you in the mountains and I'm guessing your average mileage is more likely in the mid-teens!!

I was in chill mode today, and then I tried really hard on the way home to eek out some better gas mileage for all of you. Haha. Good thing too because the Sheriffs and Ga State Patrol was out in force.

Bastages . . .Used to be that GA had really lead foot friendly laws until somebody confused normal GA400 commute speeds with flagrant Super-Speeder offenses. Oh well, not like there is less traffic nowadays, so maybe he had good intentions . . .

I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, hoping they only recently began collecting the data to populate these reports and that the reports will improve over time. Of course the other explanation might be they just don't have enough data samples from our unicorns.

Maybe some genius at BMW decided that 34% looked good and that nobody would compare it with other owners.

Haha nope. You forgot about the Starbucks line for 10 minutes.

And I had the car in comfort mode on 45 mph windy roads with lots of elevation changes just running through the gears and leaving in higher rpm’s. No full acceleration- still breaking tires in.
