Drive Experience Switches don't work

On my Z4 (G29) it occasionally happens that the entire row of Drive Experience Switches next to the engine start button become inoperational; they just become rigid and and can't be pushed down anymore. With that, the drive modes can't be changed.
This phenomenon can be observed especially under hot conditions. After the car is parked for a while, the buttons start working again.
My BMW dealer doesn't have any experience with this, so I hope to get some feedback from anybody who has - thanks.

I think that I would expect a BMW dealer to do a little more to help you than appears to be the case.

Sorry that I can’t personally help you. I think you should insist that the dealer sort the problem out.

I wish you luck.

Any chance something was spilled that got under there and could be causing an issue?

That definitely sounds like it could be the cause for this issue!

when i broke my idrive controller i noticed when taking them out they are unpushable. They only become pushable when they get power.

It may be like you say that the module shuts off when getting too hot.

Or maybe the connector is a little loose.
Or it might be a simple as a software thing that is fixed with an update

Its a bit annoying to reach, you have to remove the entire center console to get to the buttons. So if you still have warranty the dealer is the best way to get it fixed. :-)
