Love everything About the Z4 Except This Part

I had the opportunity to test drive a Z4 s30 in late April and instantly fell in love. I placed an order for mine in the first week of May and my order went into production last week . Compared to the other modern roadsters I've come across, something about the space behind the seats just seem ...Bland to me. Opinions ?

Honestly, I never gave this a thought but I can see your point.

I wonder if there is a company that sells trim to spice up that space

I've been wondering the same thing . I checked the " what did you do with your z4 today ? " forum and not a single post about this part lol .

The net really doesn't bother me and it serves a purpose. It is the back wall that could be updated with something more attractive.

I actually use that space often. Be it a hat or a bottle of something that won’t go in the console.

On my ZFest trip I learned that the little pass-through between the seats is great for storing extra caps.

I agree with you, I'm thinking about maybe getting it upholstered in leather at some point in time. I still have some other bits to fix/swap first

I like it. Never really thought about it as its black and not much shows past the seats.

Use the net mostly for spare for baseball hats.

I use the pass through to the trunk to store my sun shade. The net behind the seats is a great place to store small umbrellas, baseball hats and other small items.

Don't you use the driver's side glove box to store your sunglasses? 🤔

It is much more convenient to just toss them into the area where the phone charger would have been if BMW had included it in my car.

i have one pair on drivers side , and 2 pairs with prescription glasses, since they cost quite a bit of money i keep them in their separate cases, which don't all fit in the little box on the steering wheel

And the glovebox is filled up with the manual and an ice scraper and an emergency covid mask that we'll hopefully never need again

Why keep the manual in the glove box when Idrive 7 has a copy of the owner's manual included in it?

I'm just so happy that there is space there and the seats move back a decent amount compared to my F type that it never occurred to me to question the looks of the behind the seats space....

Cheers,
Dave

PS, you could put the ice scraper in the mesh net behind your seats and free up even more space in the glove box. 😉

I don't like putting stuff behind the net, it slides around when I'm taking corners, but i could put the ice scraper in the trunk, since i don't need/use it that often

With all of this newly found space in the glove box, what are you now going to store there?

It isn't a requirement here unless you have a hot date!

I usually store my Nikon SLR on the shelve behind the net. My wife stores a bag containing, nuts, apples, crackers, etc. in the pass through area. Easily accessible while on the move.
