In Germany they rolled out 2019/11.70 via OTA regardless of model. Latest firmware is 2020/3.xx that is only available via dealer upload so far. OTA in the U.S. is still MIA.
Dealer will typically only update firmware if you have issues that cannot be resolved otherwise. Upload takes time and is not always without issue.

If you don’t experience any issues, the new sw would probably not do anything for you. For others, it fixed iPhone connectivity issues, side mirror reverse down issues, Windows going half way down after closing soft top, and other little annoyances.

I do wonder if it may fix the false radar warning you have been seeing.

I have a BMW Z4 M40i with Connect id7. Could you please let me know if the Assisted Driving assistant option can be enabled? Is it because I have 2019/11.70 and not 2020?

Watching at the BMW videos and following the instructions the option is not displayed ... cannot find it. I assume the Z4 does not have the capability to have this option (ie lack of cameras?)

I guess it depends what specific features you are talking about? The Z4 only seems to have 1 camera so therefore it does not have lane keep assist, but it does have lane departure warning. I think 2 cameras are needed for lane keep assist which my X3 has.

Except this display above I have all other driving assistant features. However having not enough number of cameras make sense. I also thought about this issue preventing me to have the assisted driving display in my central display area.

The G29 Z4 only has the regular Driving Assistance Package (ZDA) available. The feature you are looking for is only available in the Driving Assistance Professional Package (ZDY) which is not an option for this model.

When I got my z4 in February with all available features, the most I could get was the active cruise control. Dealer told me “Active driving assistant” or “Ext. traffic jam assistant” were not offered in Europe because of laws prohibiting that level of autonomous driving.Here, It is not possible to order the car with them.

My US 2020 M40i had one OTA update, which added Spotify. Even after exiting the car, it continued the update. Went fine with no issues. Still waiting for the next update that is supposed to add Andriod Auto

My Z4 is still on the 2019 .55 version. I started having reboots of the navigation system starting last week which the dealership is telling me is an outside interference issue. I'll wait to see what happens with the OTA update, if that ever arrives.

I'm on the cusp of selling the car though. I really like it, but if I can get a good price I would let it go.

I have just had my car at the dealer last week for a few recall bits...

Whilst in it was given a new update, which amongst a few minor tweaks, it also received Android Auto. I don't personally use it but thought it worth a mention as I've not seen any talk of it on here as yet...

I'll check the version number if anyone is interested.

The best bit for me is that now the car visuals on the dash show the right colour and spec... Simple but satisfying 😜

It was a bit tricky to find though, as it's not in the media or com menus like CarPlay.

OTA is a non feature as far as I am concerned. I already have my X3 at the dealer for warranty, but am going to take my Z4 there in the morning to ask for the update on it. I want to actually USE it before winter comes.

07/2020.48 installed at dealer two weeks ago. Had initial false radar that stopped after a few days—kinda like it had to learn?? Now having radio issues where it will tune to preset #4(or above), but it doesn’t move the displayed channel to that preset—so, if I want to use the wheel to scroll up to the next channel, I have to scroll all the way to that preset—-ok, preset 1 is XM8 and is pushed and playing, then I push preset 4, and XM47 starts playing, but my channel listing display still shows XM8 in the display, so if I want to use the wheel to scroll up one channel from XM47 to XM48, I have to spin the wheel all the way from XM8 up to XM48. Similar funky issues seen when using steering wheel thumb selector. Annoying.

Lots of us recently received the OTA update. Its brings us Spotify. But if you have a new android phone or os11, Wireless android auto is now available. Need 07/2020.25 version installed in our car. Needs to be flashed at dealer. And i can confirm with this link it indeed is available and working.
