Here is the ask of the thread. Who is better...Lewis or Max and provide EVIDENCE of why that is so. "I just think he is" won't get the job done.

Putting on a poll is a panic measure by you to cover up the deficiencies of machinery used by both drivers.
You have made comparisons so I'll make one,I'll try and keep it simple and straightforward,so if two runners were to run around a running track that did not allow spike trainers but one did and it was allowed afterwards then who would likely win ...I rest my case.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with supporting an underdog, that's not the issue here. The issue is that certain members refuse to admit that HAM worked his way to the top of the sport, and therefore deserves praise and recognition.

Go to HAMs 2009 season. He was in a car pronounced, "unacceptable" by the TP, Martin Whitmarsh. He still finished 5th in the championship in one of the slowest cars winning 2 races and scoring 4 Pole positions. He was the only driver keeping the Brawn and Red Bull honest.

Max has NEVER driven a car a bad as the MP4-24. Period. End of Story. Lewis put that dog on the pole 4 times and won 2 races. Max only has 2 poles in his whole career. When Max does something like this, let me know. It hasn't happened yet.

Well I must admit HAM did have a bad car in 2009 the MP4-24 as you say and if I remember it looked like a meccano construction in some places especially the front wing.

Max has never had a car that bad. All of his cars have been designed by the most prolific designer in the history of Formula One...Adrian Newey. He has more F1 Championships than all teams except McLaren and Ferrari.

I think this poll is pretty useless without a poll to decide what is the better car:
The Mercedes or the RBR.
Then multiplying the percentage outcome of HAM x RBR and VER x MB and that gives an insight in how much the car versus the driver determines the rating of who's best and who's second.

A poll about who's the more spectacular driver is also nice.
There have been lots of great F1 drivers, winning lots of championchips, but were quite boring.
I think most people watch the sport for the spectacular moments, the daring overtakes, the impossible saves, the brilliant stops in unforseen situations, that sort of stuff. Like Senna in the rain for those who are old enough.

Interesting. HAM has only lost one wet race in the past 5 years. Spectacular excites people but consistency wins championships. HAM is like a metronome. Relentless. Remorseless. And still Respectful. Not a dirty racer.
