Is there an engine tune for the sDrive30i?

Which engine is in the sDrive30i? Is it the B48 engine? And does anyone like BootMod3 offer a flash tune to bump up the power a little bit?

Thanks in advance!

I'm currently running a stage 2 tune from DME Tuning and I love it. World of a difference between a stock 30i and a tuned one. I don't know if BM3 has a tune yet for the B48 Z4 but I would send them an email to check compatibility.

Don't really know if I need more power right now but might tune if I can get a tune that works with the OBD port that I can put back to stock if I want. Anybody knows if there is already a possibility for a OBD flash?

Thanks! Which year 30i do you have? And did you just flash it using your laptop and the OBD port?

No problem. I have a 2019 so my DME was locked, I couldn't flash it myself even if I wanted to. I actually took it to an aftermarket shop and had them do everything for me, since I had to install some other mods.

I currently have bm3 for my '18 430i. Hoping I can transfer it to a Z4 when I'm ready for another BMW. That was my original plan when I bought bm3. I could transfer it once to myself on a different car.

Where can I find more info on that BM3 for the G29 30i?
Thanks.

Since the 4cyl z4 shares the same engine as the g20 3 series, the numbers should be similar, if not the same.

This is very interesting... So you can add burbles with this tune.
So you can erase the tuning and go back to stock as much as you want?

Thx.

Yeah all bm3 tunes let you customize burbles. It's a flash tune so you can go back and forth as much as you want. Email them just to completely make sure.

I've tuned my sdrive20i with a hc-performance custom map which takes the power values up to 300hp and around 460 nm , unfortunately no dyno available here however the it feel like a totally different ride , tried few 0-100 all came up between 4.6-5 seconds depending on tires grip , 100-200 around 13 seconds.
I believe this would be the same output for the 30i considering its the same B48d engine used in both cars I guess

Can you tell me a bit more about how you can change the burbles?
So there is an option to make them more loud without any changes on the hardware?
Thanks!

Sure, one of my friends has a 440i with a Bm3 stage 2 tune on it. When you plug in the OBD cable to the car from your computer and use BM3's client, you can change the intensity and timing of the burbles. You can make them longer/shorter/louder/quieter. I'm pretty sure you don't need to change any hardware for a burble tune, unless you're running higher than a stage 1 tune (stage 2 + burble tune definitely get an upgraded downpipe). I would recommend a catless downpipe or any upgraded downpipe though to get the most out of your burbles, and from your exhaust note.
